The city council met In (he city hall

some arrangements aa to electric lights.
For a long time the city has beep In
ilarkneaa Owing (to some differences
between the Electric I/hrht company
and the council the contract which
expired revered months ago was not re
newed, but they got together last night
Bind made a nontraot that promises
bright streets for a year at least.
The contraclt provides that the city
will poiy the Electric Light company
32^0 for one year with tile privilege
of renewing (he contract at the expi
ration of the first year for five years
at 52.800 per year. This will tie cheup
lights and there Is nopnoapedt or cause
why we should be troubled any more
about lights. The electric light plant
here Is a good one and tile manager
(Mr. J. C. Whitaker) certainly knows
shat to do with It, therefore the city
will have bright streets In the futirc.
