Cyclones are becoming too nu¬
merous to be lovely'.
A convict guard in Wilkes conn-
ty is in jail because a negro died
after being whipped.
Hydrophobia killed two persons
in Gordon county last, week. A ltd
still dogs go untaxed.
Don’t let people hang around
your place of business unless they
are worth something to you.
A man and his wife in LaGrange
died of different, diseases within a
few hours of eachother Sunday
evening and were buried in the
same grave.
Mrs. Nobles is to hang next,
Friday. It was nearly two years
ago that, she and the negro Gns
Fumbles killed her husband, and
her case has been through all of
the courts. The negro is to hang
a few weeks later.
Last. Thursday at Blakely a man
got drunk and killed his wife.
Friday he was attested and jailed
Monday he was indicted by the
grand jury and put on trial for
life. Tuesday he was convicted
and setenced to hang ot the 14th
of May. That is the best, argu¬
ment we have over heard aginst,
tanchiugs.

The Cordele High School sprung
up and flourished like a green
hay tree and the city council
siniled and said, Look at ns, and
handed out a tiickle or a dime
to give the thing a start, But
they needed running expenses
after a while, and the city slapp¬
ed its hand on iespoofetand cried

Eighteen of the Lucv Cobb girls
ran away from the Institute on
the first of April and celebrated
the day. One of their pranks was
to order 18 glasses of soda water
aud then pass out without touch¬
ing them. Matty other tricks were
played and t hey had a joyful time
generally. But Mrs, Lipscomb—
poor old soul—we met her at El-
bertou last, year—she is mortal
ugly—is principal of the College
aud wanted to do something
smart, if you please, very smart,
and she expelled the giris. But
we desist for fear she will come
down here and expel us. The girls
were returned, however, but they
ought to get their education where
they know the age of girls and
what time of year it is.
When a cold is contracted, cure it
at once. One Minute Cough Moo will
set you on the io.kI to recovery. It
will cure pneumonia, bronchitis, croup
and all forms ot lung and throat
troubles. J. S. Betts Co.
