W. L. Story, Geo. G.
and Rob B. Price were examined
Tnesday night and admitted

ty now has 18 lawyers.
Anegro, Prank Tift, got. a di¬
vorce Monday, and was married
on the sly at Sheri 11’Story’s house
by ’Squire Ike Howard Tuesday,
very much against the will of the
girl’s mother. The mother found
it out just too late to save
daughter from the id inching vows,
and raised quite a rumpas in the
courthouse yard to the amuse¬
ment of the spectator 1 ' with a dis¬
play of rhetoric peculiar to her
class.
A sign on the wall of the new
courthouse at the turn of the steps
reads, “Don’t spit on the Floor,
Fine, $1.00.” Ladies passing
way must lift their skirts to pass
through the combination of the
filthy weed and human saliva.
The large court room is
small to seat the large crowd in
attendance.
The brick courthouse settles
the removal question in this coun¬
ty far a number of years to come.
Politically, this court is exceed¬
ingly quiet, there being no candi¬
dates in the field.
Representative G. G. Ford is an
absentee from the Georgia legis¬
lature, and is in court to find out
what went with some cows last
year.
The spectators are very orderly
and the soberiKWsofthe assembly
sneaks well for p: ohibition.
Ti: question of a new judicial
circuit came up Monday for dis¬
cussion. it was opposed by Spence
and Pope, and advocated by the
local bar almost unanimously.
Court, is busy doing little and
will not get through this week.
(Sixty cases have been transferred
to the dead docket. George King
and John Thomas let their pistols
be seen and were sent, up for a
year. Manuel .Stephens isanoth-
er whose color compares favorably
with a row between black cats in
a dark alley before day, and
whose head shapes like a cypress
knee, had some fun last spring at
hidingGus Lippett’s buggy wheels

pen twelve* months. J. G. S.
Powell had some trouble with a
girl and was fined $ 200 . Noether
has been convicted. Tli’e Ford
ease has taken up the rest of the
time. 00 jurors were called in
that case, and 12 taken. A jury
was made up Wednesday evening
and guarded by a bailiff in tho
courthouse at night. Thursday
was spent in taking evidence, and
the case will go to the jury today.
Court is costing the county
