Ashhurn will soon have several
brick buildings, Ground
broken Tuesday for the Murray
and Hickman stores. Plans are
nearly complete for J. S. Betts A
Co. to build between their present
store and W. A. Murray’s. Tin s '

Whooping cough is the most
distressing malady; hut its dura¬
tion can be cut short by the use of
One Minute Conge Cure, which is
also the best known remedy for
croun and all bronchial troubles.—
J. S. Betts & Co.
It is customary in this township
to cerenade newly married people
but it is not customary to get mad
about it. Last night when the
preacher came to marry a couple
he was shied off' the rear of the
train and around by the slab pit
through a dark way to the
where a secret marriage was
sired. But the plan flashed. The
boys saw the trick and gathered
their articles of racket. When
the ceremony was over the boys
outside the gate rent the night air
with a saw and hammer accompa¬
nied with a few bells and the bass
brouhgt up with a drum to the
amusement of the entire commu¬
nity. The boys tore a hole in the
bag that contained the secret and
let the thing out. The brother of
the bride let go his temper and
stepped forth with a display of
rhetoric that is not calculated to
increase friendship. He lias lost
the frindship of nineteen boys un¬
less he divides candy with them a
good deal in the near future.
