To the Public:—Had I been a-
ware of the resolution adopted by
Messrs. Shingler, Betts, Evans,
Lawrence, Murray and Thrasher,
as Trustees of the Ashburn High
School, relative to elegibility of
applicants for principalship of

The Advance, believing that
such a settlement would be to the
best interest of all concerned and
essential to the future wellfare
of the town, was instrumental in
bliuging about same, it being
our aim to build up and not to
tear down. While a great many
of our readers will be disappoint¬
ed and probably displeased at
our course, we are confident they
will, upon reflection, give us credit
for having done the right thing.
At present no one is injured and,
we trust, no ill feeling exists;
had the controversy continued no
one can guess the outcome. We
are glad the matter is of the past,
and that brotherly love prevails.
