Our young friend Wiley Lynch
js now local editor and publisher
of the (VOperativc Workman,
jptiblislied at Fhivillit, Butts
/county. Wiley is not only a
clever yniiti" titan, but is one ot
tin* very best printers in the state.
in our Imtnlilc opinion Miss
(jl’ennaiit is one of the best, it not
the best, Lely editors in tho state.
Her paper, the Add Nows, is
filled with bright and pungent
sayings, and she evinces the tael
and shrewdness ot one who ban
long been trained in the editorial
harness. At repartee she is the
peer of anyone in tho profession.
The Lyons 1’laiu Dealer is a
jiew candidate for public favor,
it is a neat ami newsy f,-column
folio, with G. G. Wuters as ed¬
itor and publisher, and G. J.
Hendry business manager. Judg¬
ing from tho liberal advertising
patronage given tho Plain
Lyons is a hustling inwn, and
ihe paper is assured of long
mid prosperity.

would rally to his support.
In writing up the Tifton fir
and the damage done to the
.Ga/.etfc office, Miss Tennant re¬
ferred to the editor as a ‘‘smoked
Herring.” Bro. Hanlon read the
paragraph ami chuckled so loud
wo could hear him way over here,
and exclaimed: “John’s got
troubles of his own now, and it
will keep him busy looking after
the Adel News. Perhaps he will
let me alone until my hair grows
out, and then—.” Wo failed to
.catch the rest.
Lust week there was a lire in
“Tifton that destroyed the Buck
building, ami came very near
burning the Gazette office. A
large amount of the type and
machinery was moved out by
willing but inexperienced hands,
and as a result much damage was
done. Notwithstanding this,
Editor Herring and his force,
after Hixty hours of hard work,
brought the pit per out on time,
and in good shape. It taxes so-.iie-
tliing more than lire and water to
stop John Herring.
The Ashburn Advance has boon
forced to suspend for want of
Jiome patronage. It was a bright,
readable paper, but like many
jot hers, was not able to hold up a
town ami enmity to the world as
place worth living in, without
help.—Douglass Breeze. You are
wrong, neighbor. The Advance
lias not suspended, nor is there
any probability of its doing so.
We dare say that the paper is

FtQm tlie Sylvan Valley Nows, Bre¬

whether the editor of a newspaper has
the r gbt to publicly recommend any
ot tho various proprietary mediciucs
which flood (he markets yet as a pre¬
ventive of suffeiing we fool it a duty
to say a good word for Chamberlain’s
Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Reme¬

medicine in our family for twenty
years, and have always found tt re¬
liable. In many cases a dose of this
remedy would save hours of suffering
while a physician is ;iwaned. Wo do
uot believe iu depending implicitly
on anv medicine for a cure, but we
do believe that if a bottle of Onambcr-
lam’s Diarrhoea Kenedy were kept
on hand aud udministcred at the in¬

might be avoided, and in very many
ca«cs 'lie presence of a physician
would not bo required. At least Hu's
