: SALUTATORY.
In assuming the management and hur
rying out this issue of the Journal, we
labor under many disadvantages, having
such a short time to get our office in
working shape. We will, however, try
to improve as we grow cider, and prom
ise the people of Lee County a first-class
weekly newspaper. ;
Our columns will be devoted to the
general news of the county and state,
and our politics will be strictly Demo
cratic, advocating at all times that which
is best for the up-building of Leesburg
aq&l lee County. ;
We will expect the' co-operation and
support of our business men and people
throughout the county, and we propose
to make the Journal a grand advertising
mediuin,
The junior editor feels proud to once
more have the pleasure of being with
the people of his boyhood days, and
viewing the scenes of his early life.
Mr, A. Z. Wesley, a thorough news
paper man, and who has the reputation
of being a first-class printer, having been
connected with the Waycross, Ga. Jour
nal for seven years, will have control of
the business management, and all orders
entrusted to us will have prompt and
business-like attention.
Hoping to have your hearty co-opera
tion, we are,
Respectfully,
