Clerk Superior Court Lee County Ga,
Particaor Superstitions,
In no pars of England is superstition‘
80 rife as In the west of England, and
especially so on that tract of barres
land known #s Dartmoor. One angler
who had great luck on the river Dart
discovered this last year. He made a
big caten, but it was made on Easter
Sunday. It cousisted of 50 trout, the |
largest 1% pounds and three of one
pound -each, besides several of half 8|
pound, a pheuomenal cateh for the up !
per Dact. When be tricd to have some
cooked at the farmhouse where he was
staying, the old moorland cook refused
to have anytbing to do with them,g
deeming them “devil's fish” or “vishe,”
as she pronounced it. |
Another superstition is that if one
plcks a piece of broom while fishing
thiat one will assuredly be drowned be
fore the day is out.
1t is general for the moormen when
dolng a quiet poach when the streams
are in flood to spit on their first worm
for luck. It is thought unlucky tc
look into the water before making &
east. ‘The most curious superstition s
that if one is fishing and for some time
catches nothing some one is wishing
him 11% &nd the only way to counteract
the “il wishing” is to kneel or “sit on
‘your knees,” as they say on Dartnioor,
and bite off the top of a young bracken
fern. The fish then will ‘be found to
bite with most peculiar and surprising
avidity.
Playing It Down Low.
“I haven’t much use for Blithersley,”
said the proud papa.
“Why ?” asked the prond mamma.
“I listened to him for an hour today
while he told me about what his baby
had sald or tried to say, and just as I
was about to tell him about ours he
left me, saying he had to catch a train.”

Dr.Miles’'HHeart Cure and
Nervine Cured ‘Me.
There is nothing more necessary to health
than sleep and rest. If these are denied you,
if you rise in the morning more tired than
when you went to bed, there is an affection of
the nerves plainly present. - If your heart is
weak, or tEere is an inherited tendency in
that direction, your weakened nerves wiil
soon so affect your heart’s action as to bring
on serious, chronic trouble. ‘Dr. Miles’ Ner
vine is a nerve tonic, which quiets the nerves,
so that sleep may come, and it quickly re
stores the weakened nerves to health and
strength. Dr, Miles’ Heart Cure is a great
blood and heart toni¢c which regulates the ac
tion of the heart, enriches the blood and im
proves the circulation. '
“Some time ago I was suffering severely
with heart trouble. At times my heart would
seemingly stop beating and at others it would
beat loudly and very fast. Three to four
hours sleep each night in ten months was all
I could get. One week in last September 1
never closed myeyes. I got Dr. Miles’ Netvine
and Heart Cure at a drug store in Lawrence
burg, after spendin]% $300.00 in medi
cines and doctors in Louisville, Shelbyville,
Frankfort, Cincinnati and Lawrenceburg,
and in three days have derived more benegt
from the use of your remedies than I got
from all the doctors and their medicines. I
think everybody ought to know of the mar
velous Fower contained in your remedies.'—
