ALTON B. PARKER IS

DELZGATES INSTRUCTED TO VOTE FOR PARKER,.
. T. B. Felder and J. H. Estill, Electors-at-Large.
" Atlanta, May 31.—The Parker caucus
called to-night in the ball room ot the
Kimball House adjourned amid the wild
est tumult and most turbulent scenes of
disorder ever wituessed in a Georgia
Democratic gathering. There were
cheers and yells and hisses, and so
gre at was the confusion that it was
impossible to take any action.
After Judge E. B, Calloway of Rich
mond had been elected permanert chair
man, the roll of the counties was ca!led.
During this period the disorder amount
ed to simply a continuous buzz of conver
sation. Many motions got before the
caucus, but only the motion to adjourn
was acted on after it was apparent that
any other action would be impossible.
Atlanta, Ga., June I.—After a red hot

*‘Resolved, That the delegates from
Georgia to the national Convention to be
held in St. Louis be and they are hereby
instructed to cast the vote of this state for
judge Alton B. Parker as the nominee
of the Democratic party for President, so
long as in the opinion of a majority of the
delegates there is a reasonable probability
of his nomination, and that said dele
gates shall vote as a unit on all questions
as a majority may determine,
The resolutions as reported to the con

committee were identical with those
adopted, with the exception that the
word ‘‘request’” was nsed in place of ‘“‘in

Mr. Ferguson Out of The
Race.
To the voters of Lee Co.
Gentleman:
My name having been before you as a
candidate for the legislature. 1 take this
method of withdrawing same. The rea
son there for being the simple fact that
i’'ve too much work to do to get mixed up
in Lee Co. Politics, and as I would be
elected in this race it would call for
something more in after years and our
County meeds good farmers and fewer
Politicians, I Propose to devote my time
to things purely agricultural. In conclu
sion let me tender my thanks to those
friends who have been kind enough to
pledge me their support,
Sincerely yours,
a Ed S, Ferguson,
I carry a full line of plows, binder
