Louisville, Ky., Satur.iay.—Jonn Cabell Smith, a wealthy Kentuckians, proposes to have a three days’ reunion of the Smith family of America in Amerita in Louisville this fall, and is addressing let ters to Newspapers in various section: asking them to extend on his behalf an invitation to everybody bearingthe name of Smith to agree to be present in ILouis ville at a date yet to be fixed, ‘‘as the guest for three days of John Cabell Smith of Kentucfky.” He purposes to pay all the expenses of a three days’ outing and arrange a pro gram of pleasures that will appeal to old, young and middle aged. . T'nere is no reason why we Smiths can not get to gether m old Kentucky and have a high old time, said Mr. Smith., “It has just occurred to me that it would be a great thing to get all the Smiths to gether for a lark. Some of us are good men, some bad, some in peniten tiary and some that ought to be; sonie of us in the lunatie aslyum and some that are really emart people. We are making our grand juries too much of a political machine. We are placing too much power in the hands ‘ot our officers who in case a talesman had to be picked npand a question was doubt ful could put on partisand and carry any measure the way he wanted it, As the law stands there is no way of effefctually checking up our dis pensary. We need the law changed, We need seperate dispensary officials M our County Commissioners are the o..es to check over the figpancial afiairs of the County. If they to check over the dispensary commnissioners and they them selves are the dispensary commissioners. We would like to know how we are ever to get things straight. If things go wrong without the County Commiscioners bring ing proceeding against themselves as dis pensary commissioners.
