For the Standard. Messrs. Editors : Now that the elections are over, in calmly reflecting upon the past, I hare been forcibly struck with the tso , that 001. Tumlin in his efforts to break up the Democratic party of Cass, has destroyed himself. Postpoof I the Southern Military Academy Lottery was compelled to dispense with the drawing of Class V., on the Oth inst., on account of prevalence of yellow fever in Montgomery. Holders of tickets, however, will suffer no loss as they are allowed to return them and take others in Class W., to be drawn Nov. Bth. That is decicedly the best scheme he has yet offered. We refer all to our adver tising columns for the scheme. Read it, and, if you wish, profit by it. Ho Removal of the Capitol. The question of Removal or No Removal of the seat of Government of Georgia, which formed a part of the contest in the late elec tion, has been decided in favor of Miltedgc ville. The vote stands as follows—with two or three counties not reported : For removal to Atlanta, 27.665; to Ma con, 2.939 ; for removal without designating r any place, 1,001. Total for removal 31,698;! no removal, 41,901 — majority against re moval, 13,206. The Cotton Market. Charleston, Oct. 16,1855. j The market is dull, and prices weak. House of Representatives, ) October 11, 1855. 5 On motion of Mr. Harris, the House took a recess previous to meeting the Senate, in Convention, to compare the vote for Gov ernor. After the counting of the votes, the num her given was declared to be : For Andrew .Johnson, 67,499; Meredith P. Gentry, 65,342. Majority for Johnson, 2,157. The Elections. Baltimore Election.— The Municipal Election in Baltimore, passed off quietly on the 10th inst. The Anti-Know Nothing, Democratic party triumphed over their ad versaries by a large majority. The Know j Nothings had a majority, in that city, last year, of 2 700 votes. Twelve Democrats and eight Know Nothings have been elected. Pennsylvania and Ohio. The Philadelphia Pennsylvanian of Wed is del.rious with joy over the result of tht elections in that State and Ohio. That paper says: ** From all directions the news is pourii g in upon us of Democratic victorias, and we are so bewildered with immense majorities and unbounded enthusiasm that we are un able to foot them up. Suffice it to say, the victory throughout the State is a complete one, one from which the unholy alliance formed against the Domociacy will not soon Tecovcr Pennsylvania now rides proudly and glo riously in the onward career of her great ness, bearing upon her banner the glad tidings of a large majority for the undying principles of Democracy. Address J. L. GIBSON, Cartersville, G*. jane 23 ts SI It is l'act Estfihiishcd AND well known that the Arabians attained a height in the knowledge of medicine which caused the whole world to wonder and admire. “With them the science of chemistry had its birth, and it is, therefore, not at all strange that a people so eminently successful in the healing art, and so porsevereing and dar ing character, should, by actual and untiring experiment, discover remedies far surpassing in efficacy all others, for the cure of these dis eases incident to them from their mode of life. The greater part of their time being spent in hazardous and bloody warfare with the different tribes, they went subject to the most violent at tacks of rheumatism, paralysis, neuralgic pains, and various infl amatory diseases, as also the most horid wounds, sprains, bruises, tumors, swellings, diseases of the joints, etc., etc. All these diseases they were so surprisingly efficient in curing, that the uninitiated looked with won del- and attributed their skill to the powers of magic. ft. G. FA RRELL'S A RA ETA XLINIMENT is a composition of balsams and oils, from rare plants peculiar to this country, and it was by the use of the articles composing this remedy that not only their physicians, but even the wild Arabs of the desert were enabled to perform such miraculous cures. The Arab steed is -world renowned for his beautiful symmetry of form, his unsurpassed speed and agility, and the in credible fatigue he is capable of enduring.— Why is it? Because from the time of his birth his limbs are carefully watched, and upon the first appearance of disease the magic lotion is applied, and such things as confirmed sweeny, poll-evil, fistula, ringbone, scratches, spavin, lameness, etc., etc., are unknown. The same result will follow in all cases where 11. G. Far rell’s Genuine Arabian Liniment is used in time. Therefore delay not in procuring a good supply ot it, for every dollar spent in it will save you twenty, and a great deal of suffering, if not your life. The public are cautioned against another conn terfeit, which has lately made its appearance, j called W. B.
