This fine Arkansas gentleman has a mighty
fine estate.
Of fire or six thensand acres or more of land,
that will be worth a great deal some day
or other if he don't kill himself loo soon,
and will only condescend to wait;
Ami four or fire dotea negroes that would
rather work than not,
And such quantities of horses, and cattle,
and pigs, and oilier poultry, that he ner

tition of Charles A. Williams and William
A. Williams, partners in trade using the name
ot C. A. Williams A Son, that by deed of mort
gage, dated the 1st day of April' eighteen hun
dred and fifty-seven, Ephraim Porter conveyed
to the'said C. A. Williams A Son, two certain
town lots in the town of Adairsville, and coon
tv of Cues, known (first) as lot number twen
ty, in the plan of said town, bonnded on the
north by the lands of William C. Freeman,
south by the lands of William C. Blalock, east
by the fight of way of the Western A Atlantic
Rail Road, west by the lands of Griffith,
said lot being ninety feet front, containing one
hall acre, known as the Knott place. Also, a
certain lot in the town aforesaid, bounded
west by the Western A Atlantic Rasl Road,
having one hnedred feet front, rear, east and
west one hundred and eighty-four feet, known
as the Hnny lot, containing eighteen thousand
fiiar hundred square feet. For the purpose of
securing a promissory note, made by the said
Ephraim Porter to said C. A. Williams A Son,
dated the 1st day of April, eighteen hundred
and fifty-seven, and dne one day afterdate, for
the sum of three Imndred and thirty-three 31-
100 dollars, which note is due and unpaid. It
is ordered that said Ephraim Porter do pay
into this Court by the first day of the next
term, the principal, interest and cost doe on
said mte, or show cause, if he have any, to the
contrary, or that foreclosure be granted to the
said C. A. Williams A Son, of said mortgage,
and the equity of redemption of the said
Ephraim Porter therein be forerer barred, and
tbit service of this Rule be perfected on Eph
raim Porter according to law. March 16,1858.

I T appearing to the Court bv the petition of
B. H. Leeke, that John J. "Word, deceased,
late of Cass county, did in his lifetime execute
to said B. H. Leeke and Jane A. M. Carswell
his bond, conditioned to execute titles in fee
simple to said B. H Leeke and Jane A. M,
Carswell to ten acres of land, more or less, be
ing a r* of lot number eighty-seven, in the
fifth district and third section of Cass county,
and the place on which said B. H. Leeke lives,
formerly occupied by said John J. Word, in
the town of Cassville; and it further appearing
that Jane A. M. Carswell has transferred her
claim to said B. H. Leeke; and it further ap
pearing that said John J. Word departed this
life without executing titles to said land, or in
any way providing therefor; and it farther ap
pearing that said B. H. Leeke has frilly paid
the purchase money for said land, and said B.
H. Leeke having petitioned this Court to direct
Thomas A. Word, Administrator on the estate
of John J. Word, to execute to him titles to
said land : Il is therefore ordered that notice
be given in the Cassville Standard for three
months of such application, that all persons
concerned may file their objections, if any they
hare, in my office, why said Thomas A. Word,
Administrator as aforesaid, should not execute
titles to said land in conformity with said
bond.

six, John J. Ellis made and delivered to Wil
liam Bradley his certain promissory note,
bearing date the day and year aforesaid,
whereby the said John J.. Kills promised bv
the first day of October next, 1857, to pay the
said William Bradley or bearer one hundred
and seven dollars, for valne received, and af
terwards on the same day and yenr aforesaid,
the said John J. Ellis, the better to seen re the
payment of said note, executed and delivered
to said William Bradley lot of land number
one hnndred and seventy-seven, in the fifth
district and third section of said county, con
ditioned that if the said John J. Ellis should
pay off and discharge said note, or cause it to
be done, according to the tenor and effect
thereof, that then the said deed of mortgage
and said note should become and be null and
void, to ull intents and purposes, and it fur
ther appearing that said note remains unpaid :
it is therefore ordered, that the said John J.
Ellis do pay into Court by the first day of the
next term thereof, the principal, interest and
cost due on said note, (or show ennse to the
contrary if any he has) and that on the failure

Plan of the Lottery.
The Numbers from 1 to 50,000, correspond
ing with those Numbers on the Tickets printed
on separate slips of paper, are encircled with
small Tin tubes and placed in one wiieel. The
first 457 Prizes, similarly printed and encir
cled, are placed in another wheel. The wheels
are then revolved, and a number is drawn
from the wheel of Numbers, and at tlie same
time a Prize is drawn from tbe other wheel.—
The Number and Prize drawn out are opened
and exhibited to the audience, and registered
by the Commissioners—tbe Prize being placed
against the Number drawn out. This opera
tion is repeated until all the Prizes are drawn
out.
Approximation Prizes.—The two preceding
and the two succeeding Numbers to those
drawing tbe first 7 Prizes will be entitled to
the 28 approximation Prizes. For example—
if Ticket No. 11250 draws the $7<V«X> Prize,
those Tickets numbered 11248, 11249, 11251,
11252, will each be i ntitled to $400. If Ticket
No. 550 draws the $30,000 Prize, those Tickets
numbered 548, 549, 551, 552, will each be en
titled to $30o, and so on according to the above
scheme.
The 5,000 Prizes op $20 will be determined 1
by the last figure of the Number that draws the
$70,000 Prize. For example, if the number

of an oral instructor, to acquire a knowledge
of Phonography or Phonetic short hand, by
which one is able to write six times as fast as
tbe common long hand, and is equally legible,
