Rev. I>. H. Crvuies preached an
interesting and instructive sermon at
the Grove Sunday to a lrrge and at

in the afternoon.
Everybody i; cordially invited to

Our are noted for then love
for music amt welcome any who will
come and take part. Our Sunday

perhaps instruct you to some extent.
Mr. l’reston Ray says he saw beau

I Our esteemed liteary friend ‘'B. H'\
should have gone just a little farther
with his “Social cup” and told us ot |

man: and the paraiized conscience
trial and penalty of the murderer.
Also the financial standing of his
family. Our friend's article was just
excellent but we think tlie picture

We heartily endorse brother V> ise’s

Mr. F. iitor: Being of a non billi
gerent di. position and naturally hat
ing pugnacity', I bad not intended to
evoke those errant tni.sii s from
Pruitt, and_l would not think for a
moment of responding if everybody
who reads the Gazette touav me
But that so-called reply to me is
errant, ambiguous and misleading, in
the highest. If he takes me as his
ta-get, I must (v> it css h ■ is the
worst shot lev -r s:w. It is very like
a little boy learning to shoot, when
lie shuts his eyes, pulls the trigger
and hits the world. Any one who
does not know me would infer that I
am a professional “sport,” whereas
just the contrary is the fact as hun
dreds will testify.
His is more like a race for bubbles
than a tight for principle.
What is the use of arraying farm
ers against professional men and
country against town !
Can we live without farmers? Ho
vre not need professional men? Hew
could the world get along without
lawyers, doctors, preachers, teachers
state man ? How many of us owe our
lives to doctors?
What round-minded man dees not
love and honor the farmer'?
As to “fops,” “dandies,” “sports,”
“coxcombs,” wo all hate thorn, but
os remember that the true gen
deman can wear the derby, kid
glove-’, Prince Albert, and, if he fee’s
so (J, ocsed, part his hair in the mid

MAYSVILLE MATTERS.
Mr. Editor : As I have not written
from our town in some time I will
try and send in a few locals as I feel
interested in the Gazette as it’s the

engaged they can’t receive any
company except Sunday as they are
busy sewing, Rais !
Mr. G, E. Deadwyler, Jr., happened
to a very serious accident Monday
He was out in town vporting and
shot a pigeon, Tlie gun seemed to
shoot, backwards and almost fit him
lup blind. We hope his eves will be
1 restored to their natural sight.
Mr C C Moore left Mondav in the
interest of chair factory, to be gone
for several days we wish him success.
It seems that our Prof, is under
obligations to some of the young
in :i for taking such interest in the
commencement as they have been
uni inviting quite a number of young
ladies to attend. It seems that they
are naturally anxious to have the
young ladies to visit our town to
increase the number of boys. Pros
perous future.

Wc secure trie best patents for our clients,

IT 'S THE SIMPLE, TRIVIAL INVENTIONS
THAT YIELD FORTUNES,

any one can find a way of improving; and these simple
inventions are the ones that bring largest returns to the
author. Try to think of something to invent.
IT IS NOT SO HARD AS IT SEEMS.
Patents taken out through us receive special notice ra
