NERVOUS PEOPLE And those who are all tired out and have that tired feeling or sick head ache can bo relieved of all these symptoms by taking Hood’s Saraapn rilln, which gives nerve, mental and bodily strength and througly purifies the blood. It also ceates a good up petite, cures indigestion, heartburn and dyspepsia. HOOD’S PILLS arc easy to take be action and sure in effect 25c. soda a:id salt on clover. Question 2.—A party staying with mo over night iulorms me that ha knows a good farmer in Ohio who thinks socond crop olovor hotter thou the first carting for horses, when cut in the aiternoan, half cured and put in the barn free from dew or rain. Ho aides it, wiion packing with a mixture of suit ami bicarbonate of soda, but dou’t know the quantity of soda t' a buoet at sait. Me also ear* this khvG salts his stock with salt aud soda, mixed, and thinks it much hotter than suit alone. He says tii salt aud spda destroy tho salivating properties in the clover and do not slobber t'ho stock. Being anxious to try it, as I am now cutting my second orop, will you kindly submit this to your chemist and have hiui sav how much soda lie would ad vise used to a bushel of salt, and what is tho chemical effect of the mixture and give his opinion in the matter and I will try it at once ? If there is any thing in this it would be worth much to farmers in making use of tho second crop, which is often hotter than the first, and heretofore has only baon used for cattle. You will greatly oblige me by an early reply. Answer 2.—The bicarbonate of soda is used to nontralizo the acidity pro duced by formentation, and prevents it forming. Have had no experience with those to prevent slobbering and don’t know whether it would do it or not. Would like to know the result of your experiment. Use 1 gallon of soda to 1 bushel of salt. No harm in the soda, but too much would give an unpleasant taste.
