Our Sunday school at Ridgeway is
in a prosperous condition.
We lmd some excellent singing at
Wilson’s church Sunday
We wish the teachers of our county
a prosperous institute this week.
Miss Eva Yeargiu was the guest of
Miss Millie McDonald Saturday
niglit.
Mr. Glen Dorough visited his broth
er Mr. Lee Dorough Saturday and
Sunday.
Mr. Burton Hooper was thrown
from a mule one afternoon last week,
and had one wrist badly sprained.
Our picnic at Ridgeway Saturday
was well alt nded, and we had a nice
time. After the day was far spent
the boys played a game of ball.
Some of our fanners are somewhat
troubled over the bright prospects for
a cotton crop. Lice seem* to have
begun their work in some fields. Ihe
prospect is too flattering.
The death angel has visited us
again. A little child, one year old, of
Mrs. Barney Wallace was laid to res!
in the Grove Level burying ground
at 0 o’clock p. m. last Thursday. W e
extend our s\ niputhy the grief-stricken
mother and bereaved friends.
We are revested to state that l’rol
Ben O’ Kelly, of llall county, will sing
at Grove church all day on tho third
Saturday and Sunday in Jalv. It lias
been suggsted that we have a basket
dinner on these two days. All come
and bring your baskets.
Rev. Noah Martin, also of llall
county, will be with us on these two
days. W e are authorised to announce
that Bro. Martin will preach for us.

Curative power is contained in Hood's
Sarsaparilla than in any other similar
preparation. It cos’s the proprietor
and manufacturer more. It costs the
jobber more and it is worth more to
the consumer. More skill is required
in its preparation and it combines
moie remedial qualities than any
other medicine. Consequently it has
a record of more cures and its sales
rre more than those of any other prep
aration. Hood's Sarsaparilla is the
best medicine to buv because it is an
ihonest medicine and .Uottsar, sof
testimonials prove that it. does actually .
and permanently cure disease.
Obituary.
Died May tilth, 18‘J6 little Guy,
s m of Mr. and Mrs. N. J. Avers,
ageu IS months. After ten days
sickness bis spirit took its flight and
was borne away to the realms of the
blessed, and now is a shining jewel
in Christ’s Kingdom above. Love
could not keep him here, Jesus saw
it best to take him home, notwith
standing all was done that loving
hands could do or medicalskill suggest
but all in vain—death look him away
Oh, how sad to tsand by the bed
side of the precious little one and
see his "life fast ebbing away, but
not without hope for he was a lit sub
ject for a better world, and us
little Guy would sing “God called
us finin') home” where he is now
singing around tins throne.
The funeral services were con
ducted by Rev. J. U. Bryant, who
feelingly and tenderly spoke words
of consolation to the grief-stricken
relatives and friends.
There is a broken link in the chain
of 1 .ve and the heart broken parents
are mourning to day for their little
one, but in t as those without hope
for they trust in His promises and
know that
‘•(•oil in His wisdom has recalled
The boon nis love had given,
And though his body moulders here.
His soul is safe in Heaven.
Now darling Guy, we have laid thee
In the cold, cold grave's embrace;
But thy memory will be cherished,
Till we see thy Heavenly face.
Peaceful be thy silent slumbers
Peaceful in the grave so low
Thou no more will join our numbers
Thou no more our tears shall know.
Vet apt in we hope to meet thee
When the cares of life have tied.
And in Heaven with joys to greet thee
When no farewell tears are shed."'
