M. cf said county to be held on the 20th day of February 1896 at which election the question was submitted to the legal voters of said district for fence or stocklaw as pro vided for in section 1455 of the re vised code of 1882, the notice of said election having been published as re quired law and whereas the returns of said election have been made to the O rdinary of said county when, after ex amining the same declare the follow ing result: Stocklaw 2G; for fence 9 and it appearing that a majority of the votes cast in said election was in favor of stocklaw. The tabernacle meeting at Mays ville is reported to have been a great success in every particular. About sixty conversions, forty of these hav ing united with the Baptist church. Mr IV. T. Anderson, a rising young man of our little “city" has ac cepted a position with tho wide a wake firm of Anderson & Mann of Harmony Grove. Death of Mrs. John Turk. On Sunday evening Inst at 9 o’clock the spirit of Mrs. Rosa Turk, the young and lovely wife of Mr. John Turk, left its earthly tenement and winged its way to Heaven and to God who gave it. She was a most lovely woman, a kind neighbor, and a devoted wife. Her death cast a gloom of sadness ever all the community. She had been in poor health for several mouths. A few days previous to her death she became the mother of a sweet little babe, and was taken sud denly and severely ill a few days af terward growing rapidly worse until death cam* to release her from her suffering. She was a devoted Christian and died fully prepared for the change. She was laid to rest Monday after noon by the side of her father, Col. Clark Mason, in the lVesbytenan eeihetery in this place. Kev. R. D. Hawkins of Maysvilla conducting the funeral services. We extend to her husband and the other relatives onr sinceie sympa thies. HO LUNGS WORTH.
