The Knoxville, Tenn., car works

vested so much sooner that it would
supply a gap between the old crop
and the uew of the regular Georgia

Change yoar figures, Bro. iVetw—
you have left oil one of the l’s. It

off the shackles of Republicanism and

The . returns from 1 Camden iind :

there is.no doubt the ticket is elected.
The estimate from headquarters
gives Mr. Stephens abodt 60,000 ma
jontyover Mr. Gartreli.. The big ef
fort therefore of Mr. Arthur and bis
stalwarts to carry the State by sup
porting Independents falls to the
ground and Col. Farrow’s efforts
have been in vain- The state honee
officers go in by handsome majorities.
We Think It Would.
Mr. Editor; Would it not be a prof
it to the E. T. V. & G. Road, os well
as a convenience to Brunswick to pot
a passenger car on to the day, train
which leaves here in time to connect
at Jesop, and also to delay the same
train afew minutes at Jesnp, so as to
allow passengers and mails coming
arriving here about an hour or more
earlier than is now possible by way of
Waycross ? A conductor’s car is .now
run on that train, and to substitute,a
passenger - oar , would • not./ add; - to
the train, bat greatly accommo
date the travel between here and
Savannah. i. >.V O,
We heartily endorse the above, hav
ing had to take a trip this week over
this line and riding in that said con
ductor’a car. with only two chairs for
sente for about ten passengers. Now,
we are awsrtCthat the road simply
runs this train for the accommodation
of its freight and not for passengers,
bnt it does seem to us that the above
suggestions could be carried out to
the profit of the road and certainly to
the comfort of the traveling publio,
large number of whom now are com
pelled to lie over at Jesop all or part
of the night and be chewed op by bed
bugs. By the way, it is about the time
for the winter schedule to bo pat on,
so we may hope to have all these an-
noyancos removed.
Not Brunswick*
The Atlanta Post Appeal has this
little item:
“The amount expended by the Ma
rine Hospital Servioe for the benefit
of the Brunswick sufferers will not be
far from $50,000.”
The printer that set np that little
squib mistook Brownsville for Bruns
wick. Correct that mistake, brother
Post Appeal. Brunswick has not had
and, we are thankful to say, does not
need any special help of this kind, and
wo don’t iutend to need any in the
futare as long as our people arc of
tbeir present mind. We don’t pro
pose to have any yellow fever epidem
ic this or uuy other season. -r
