We heard a sentiment uttered last
Monday that pleased us mneh. It
liAS the ring of the true metal. Some
one said, in Mr. Goldsmith's presence,
"Hnrrnh for Colson 1” He immedi
ately answered, “Hurrah for Colson !
say I.” On being chided for it, he
replied, “Mr. Colson was not my
choice, but.a majority of tbo people
have elected him their Mayor; he is
my Mayor, too, aud I propose to sup
port him in tho administration of bis
office.” We commend tho seutiment.
The man who utters such sentiments
commands tho respect of his fellow
men. Would that there were more
Goldsmiths in the hind.
