MAY 10, 1917. OBITUARY WILLIAM D. CLEGHORN. The passing years are constantly calling upon our pioneers to lay down their burdens and enter unto rest. Just so the sudden call came to Wil iam D. Cleghorn, Sunday, April 29th, at 11 a. m. He was an active, respect ed, life-long, citizen, of Bartow county, having reached the age of 74 years. He was always a familiar figure on our streets, friendly, affable and genial and his many friends will always re member his loyal sincerity to them. Mr. Cleghorn had been in failing health for the past year, but only for the past month, confined to his home. He was ever a cheerful, patient suf ferer, a worthy exponent of his loyal soldier principles. Mr. Cleghorn was a brave old Con federate veteran, joining Company I, Fifth Georgia Calvary, and serving throughout the war’s fiercest battles with honorable distinction. He always remained faithful to the cause and w ith undaunted courage, fought to the finish in this long dreadful conflict. The annual reunion was to him the brightest memory of his passing years and as was his custom, he had planned to again meet his few remaining com rades, of the Lost Cause. He was kind, true and sincere, and his many friends will miss his gra cious kindly greeting and genial pres ence. His life-work here is finished, yet this truth comes to us more and more, the loDger we live, no matter what our aims, what our field of duty, great oi small, noble or obscure, if one faithfully performs his duties here, just so it trains and fits him for the greater life beyond. He was a warm hearted, true friend, unobtrusive in hfcs manners, and only his most intimate acquaintances un derstood the real kindness of his na ture. Rev., Hames conducted the funeral service and the body was laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery, accompanied by Ids many friends and relatives. Those left to mourn his loss together with a host of friends are a sister, Mrs. Mary C. Hill, of Grand Rapids, Mich., a daughter, Mrs. Mary Rooney, of Ocalla, Fla., and two sons, Messrs Claud and Homer Cleghorn. Sincerest sympathy is extended to these bereaved relatives. Oh, dear, familiar yesterday, Oh, sad, and strange today, yet who would call this kind soul back; or rouse his resting clay? MEN’S SAMPLE SERGE SUITS We only have 43 of these high grade Milton Brand Suits. They are highly tailor made and they will fit anybody. They will even make a hump-back man look straight. IN MEMORY OF MRS. J. C. MILNER. In the passing away of Mrs. Louise Milner, April 17th, this community has lost one of its most beloved, prom inent, Christian women. Seldom has a death occurred in our midst which caused greater sorrow and regret, in the homes, on the street, in business places and every where the sweetest expressions of love and sympathy were heard. Mrs. Milner was a faithful and con-; sistent member of the Methodist church, and lived most of her life here iu Bartow county, where she was high ly respected and loved by all who knew her. Her beautiful Christian life was , truly an inspiration to others. She lived a noble example of service and sacrifice to loved ones. She freely and cheerfully gave herself up to her home duties, to her loved ties, far be yond the limit of her endurance and strength. No task was too great for her to under take, for the benefit of those depend ent upon her service and counsel. She has been all her life the bright morn ing star shining with helpful kindness through all the dark shadows of life, and just so she answered the Master’s early morning call and peacefully, trustfully, the saintly, gentle, spirit of Louise Milner passed on without pain or suffering into the great beyond, Mrs. Milner is survived by her hus band, three young children, one broth ei, Mr. Thos. F. Jones, three sisters; Misses Emmie, Carrie and Mamie Jones, of Cartersville. She was the daughter of the late lamented Dr. and Mrs. Thos. F. Jones highly esteemed, and well known clbizens of Bartow county. Impressive funeral services were conducted by Rev. John G. Logan, of the Sam Jones Memorial church, Wed nesday, April 18th, attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, mutely testifying to the es timation felt by this community, in the less of this good, noble woman. Fare well dear friend, your life will always be a blessed memory, a lingering strain of sweetest music. Sleep on, peacefully sleep, and may the birds sing their sweetest requeim o’er thy grave ’till the morn of resurrection. — - Call 244 or 246 for Tip-Top or But ter-Nut Bread. LOST—Between Young Bros. Dr. Frederic Jocobson says, 75% of women need Phosphates to givv Strong, Healthy, rounded' figure and to avoid Nervous break down. Thousands of women grow strong in Nature’s way. “Consider the Lilies of the Field, How They Grow.” The life of the lily is but a few weeks or months. The life of man is ‘‘three score years and ten.” But to live one’s life in its fullness, women like the lily, must be nourished by those same vital elements which na ture provides for nourishing every liv ing thing; and these include the valu able phosphate so often lacking in the usual food we eat today. Argo-Phos phate is rich in these wonderful ele ments. It contains them in concen trated tablet form which is easy to take and quickly assimilated and ab sorbed into the system, and from youth to old age, builds and rebuilds body and brain in beautiful harmony with Nature's perfect plan. “That’s why” Argo-Phosphate makes good solid flesh and muscles. SPECIAL NOTICE: Argo-Phosphate contains the Natural phosphates which thousands of physicians afb prescrib ing daily to build up thin, pale, color less women to give them rosy cheeks, red lips, and a beautiful complexion. Many cases have been reported where women have increased their weight from 15 to 25 pounds with a few weeks' treatment, and any woman who de sires a well rounded and developed form, should secure from her druggist, this new drug which is inexpensive, and is dispensed by any reliable drug gist with or without a doctor’s pre scription.
