CALOMEL SALIVATES
AND MAKES YOU SICK
lets LiKe Dynamite on a Sluggish
Liver and You Lose a
Day’s Work.
There's no reason why a person j
should take sickening, salivating cal- j
omel when 50 cents buys a large 1
tie of Dodson’s Liver Tone—a per
fect substitute for calomel.
It is a pleasant, vegetable liquid
which will start your liver just as !
surely as calomel, but it doesn't ;
make you sick and can not salivate, j
Children and grown folks can take
Dodson’s Liver Tone, because it is
perfectly harmless.
Calomel is a dangerous drug. It is
mercury and attacks your bones.
Take a dose of nasty calomel today
and you will feel weak, sick and
nauseated tomorrow. Don’t lose a
day - work. Take a spoonful of Dod
son’s Liver Tone instead and you
will wake up fepling great. No more
biliousness, constipation, sluggish
ness. headache, coated tongue or
sour stomach. Your druggist says if
you don't find Dodson's Liver Tone
acts better Than horrible calomel
your money is waiting for you.
IVANY ACCIDENTS AT ,
GRADE CROSSINGS.
Nashville, Tenn., Julv 23.—Several
fatal accidents at grade crossing have
been rei>orted recently where trains
have struck automobiles; in fact, there
is hardly a da\ that some iaper in the
United States fails to record some
such accident. Doubtless the responsi
bility for these accidents or, at least,
many of them, will have to be deter
mined by the courts in expensive liti
gation.
There is a law in Tennessee, enact
ed by the last legislature, which, if
obeyed, would have prevented all the
grade crossing accidents recently not
ed. and if enforced will prevent all
accidents of like character in the fu
ture. This law provides that drivers of
automobiles shall stop within fifty
feet of all railroad crossings unpro
tected by watchmen or gates, and that
they shall also look and listen before
proceeding.
A grade crossing accident recently
on the Chicago, Rock Island & Paci
fic railroad at Midlothian, Til., resulted
in six deaths and injury to the driver
of the automobile. A coroner’s jury de
clared that the accident wrs the fault
of the driver and he was ordered held
to the grand jury He was charged
with ‘‘carelessness equivalent to crim
inal negligence and manslaughter.'’
The Railway Age-Gazette in com
menting upon this case says among
other things: 'The railroads have
long realized that grade crossing ac
cidents cannot be reduced appreciably
until full responsibility is 'placed not
only on the railroads hut on the public
as well. ... It is therefore decidedly
encouraging to learn that a Cook
county (III.) coroner’s jury recently
rendered a verdict which recognizes
that the persons using highway cross
ings may be entirely to blame for
grade crossing accidents and, when
this is the case, should be severely
punished.”
