11 FT YOUR CORNS
OF? WITH FINGERS
Tells How to Loosen a Tender Corn
or Callus so it Lifts Out
Without Pain.
You reckl ?.s men and women who
are pestered with corns and who have
a 1 least once a week Invited an awful
death from lockjaw or blood poison
are now told by a Cincinnati authority
to use a drug called freezone, which
the moment a few drop are applied
to any corn or callus the soreness is
relieved and soon- the entir e corn or
calms, root and all, lifts off with the
fingers.
Freezone dries the moment it is ap
pl.ed, and simply shrivels the corn or
callus without inflaming or even irri
tating the surrounding tissue or skin.
A small bottle of freefone will cost
very little at any of the drug stores,
Tut will lositively rid one's feet of
every hard or soft corn or hardened
callus. If your druggist hasn’t any
freezone he can get it at any wholesale
drug house for you.—(advt.)

GIVES EVIDENCE
His Testimony Will Interest Every
Cartersville Reader.
The value of local evidence is indis
putable. It is the kind of evidence we
accept as true because we know we
can prove it for ourselves. There has
been plenty of such evidence in the
Cartersville papers lately, and this
straightforward testimony has estab
lished a confidence in the minds of
Cartersville people that will not lie
easily shaken.

pains in my back and limbs. I don’t

the poor water I drank was the chief

• LAST CALL FOR INCREASED
FOOD PRODUCTION.
During last spring quite a campaign
: vas mads, as we all re member, for
, increased production off octet u If.-;. The
! people in town and country responded
jto this nobly. Asa result we have liv
: edlkmntifully during hi growing e -
son. An appeal then was made for peo
ple to conserve for winter use every
bit of the surplus by canning, drying,
brining or some method of preserva
tion. Again to this there was a full
response. More containers have been
bought in t*he county this year than
c\ er before and I believe there are
fewer empty containers at this time
of the year. Many hundreds of cans
of late fruits and vegetables are still
to be saved. We must not let any
thing go to waste even at this time.
Seme have said, “We have enough for
our home use.” Remember, there are
thousands of people who have not the
opportunity to can things for them
selves, but are depending on some one
from whom to buy.
All this has been good. You boys and
girls as well as the men and women
have responded nobly to your coun
ty's call for-service in the matter of
food up to the present. We should be
so thankful to live in a climate where
we cat) raise a good crop of vegetables
the year round. If we could only de
part from the idea that when we have
had a spring and sometimes a summer
garden we have done wonderfully well.
Then we have a few turnip greens for
winter use. We can grow" not only tur
nips but froan ten to fifteen vegetables
during the winter. We can yet plant
many things.
Garden Notes For September.
The following vegetables can be
planted in September:
Cabbage (plants), carrots (plants),
celery, eollards (plants), kale, kolil
rabi, lettuce, mustard, onions, rape,
spinach, turnips.
Now is the time to make a good
winter garden. The ground should be
made rich and put in good condition'
before planting. Cultivation should be
gin as soon as the plants are up and
should be repeated at least every
week.
Insoots and diseases are not un
usually serious in the fall garden but
spraying should be done if they put in
their appearance. ,
We may say we do not like some
of these things to eat. Tfie reason for
this is that we have not had them
enough to like them. However, we
should Tike them and we can if we
realize that they are absolutely es
sential to our health. If we would use
more of the winter vegetables there
would be leas “spring fever” with us.
. An answer to the call for winter
gardens is just as necessary as the
ones to which we have already re
sponded so well.
Get the plants and seeds just as
quickly as you can prepare your
ground. Get your plant® out and your
seed sown that you may have a sup
ply of fresh vegetable® during the win
ter.
Paint of our boys are gone, others
are going to do their part in protecting
you and me from worse than death.
Do you, even though you are just a,
girl or boy, appreciate their sacrifice
and your opportunity enough to con
tinue doing “your bit” in this fight for
food?
