HHi a nd, A s ent - 'NOW THE TIME TO GET HIGH GRACE HEREFORD Athens, Ga., September 10, 191?. Dear Sir: The following is a liter from Mr. S S. Jerdan, Room 217, Livestock Ex change Bldg., Stock Yards Station, Ft. Worth, Texas. If you i u tt‘rested in , better cattle this is the logical time to buy high grade females at a reason able price: “Good high grade heifers, from 1.7 to IS months old, unbred, weighing , around 500 t>ounds each can be bought j jfp: around S4O to $45 per head. Good | high grade cows, 2 to 6 years old, weighing from 700 to 800 pounds, can be bought for from S6O to S7O per head. These cattle are all in strong j enough fleslh to stand a long ship ment. There are just as good grade cattle here that can he bought for less .money, but It is doubtful if they can stand the long shipment. If you want ticky cattle, these can be had from 150 to 200 miles west of Ft. Worh, but if you want tick-free cattle it will ,be necessary for you to go further west above the quarantine line. But there are just as good breeding cattle, to be had here on the Ft. Worth mar ket for from 7 to 8 1-2 cents per pound. “The Hereford is by far the predom inating breed in this state, although there are quite a few Shofthorn and Angus for sale. There are no register ed cattle being sacrificed here, in fact they are not so cheap, perhaps, as in the north. As it is very hard to inter est the average ranchman in from one to five cans of cattle it behooves you to bunch your order with other ship pers in your territory and send some one out here to buy ,a train load at one time. This would be cheaper and more satisfactory to all concerned. In cider to do this I would suggest that you get in touch with your county agent and the livestock specialist of yeur state at once. “From 40 to 45 yearlings can be ship ped in a car, while about 30 cows make a carload, with 25 to 30 cars to the trainload. I can give you nothing definite as to freight rates. This infor mation can be obtained from your lo cal freight agent by giving him the poyits of origin and destination. I feel sure that you can obtain sufficient cars for the movement of these cattle with out any trouble. “Range bred cattle can go into the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Missis sippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina without the tuberculin test, but it will be nec essary to have a federal' inspector cer tify .to the fact that these cattle are strictly range bred. “There are thousands of cattle in this state that must be moved within the next 30 days, so if you are going to be in the market for any of these cat tle you should act at once along the tines suggested above. “If you care to get in touch with the men who have these cattle for sale I will be glad to furnish you their names and addresses.” If you are interested in securing a carload or more of these cattle please write me, as I am planning on going to Ft. Worth, Texas, to assist buyers in the select ion, purchasing and ship ping of same. Respectfully yours, GIFFORI) L. BIGFORD, Livestock Specialist: WONDERFUL STUFF! LIFT OUT YOUR CORNS Apply a Few Drops Then Lift Corns or Calluses off With Fingers —No Pain. No humbug! Any corn, whether hard, soft or between the toes, will loosen right up and lift out, without a particle of pain or soreness. This drug is called freezone and is a compound of ether discovered by a Cincinnati man, , Ask at apy dhig s,tore for a small bottle of freezone, which will cost but a trifle, but is sufficient to rid one's feet of every corn or callus. Put a few drops directly upon any tender, aching corn or callus. Instant ly the soreness disappears and shortly the corn or callus will loosen and can be lifted off with the fingers. This drug freezone doesn’t eat out the corns or calluses but shrivels them without even irritating the surround ing skin. Just think! No pain at all; no sore-, ness or smarting when applying it or afterwards. If your druggist don't have freezone have him order it for you.—(advt.) Mr. Merchant: Try us on Oats. Field Milling Cos.
