A STIRRING ADDRESS BT OR. J. P. BOIDIN At the recent meeting of the Bartow County Masonic Convention which was largely attended by Masons from all sections of the county and who were royally enti laitted with a -by the people of Cassville, a (.timber of short speeches were made, i.n! one particularly brilliant one by Dr. Joe P. Bowdoin, of AdairsviUe. Lb. Bowdoin, who for several years was the roaster of the Bartow County Ma sonic Convention, and, in fact, irs or ganizer in this county, was called ui>ois for a speech during the afternoon The eudress has been so favorably corn rented on that we here produce it In part. After a few remarks complimen tary of Cassville, Its past and its pres ent and its sterling citizenship. Dr. Bowdoin said: Never in the history of the world have men lived In conditions under which we are living today. With the world ]>owers involved in the most ap- Itailing of wars. Thousands of our brethren are up in arms and are fight ing for that which they deem right. Onr own country has gonp to war. With great reluctance and only the good of future mankind would have ever induced our president to have given our aid. The freedom of all man kind depends on America, on our sol diers at the front and our loyalty and sacrifice at home. As Entered Apprentice Masons we are taught: “In the state you are to be a quiet and peaceful subject, true to your government and just to yout country; you are not to countenance disloyalty or reliellion but patiently submit to legal authority and conform v t'i cheerfulness to the government cl the country in which you live” To this doctrine all .Masons have subscribed. All .Masons are loyal. ‘ Veil belong to your country and for flat flag never dream a dream but (I serving her as she bids you though U't service carry you through a th u and hells. i “No matter what happens to you, lit) matter who flatters you or who abuses you, never look at another flag.
