STILESBORO. *
A delightful affair of Wednesday
evening from 7:30 to 11:00 was the
Halloween party given by Air. and
Mrs. Kary Sproull at their lovely new
home. The house was artistically dec
orated in autumn leaves and Hal
lowe'en symbol*. Sixty guests enjoyed
Mr. and Airs. Sproull’s hospitality.
Those assisting in receiving . were:
Mrs. Cell Conyers, Misses Melissa
Burge, Jessie McCormick, Willie Bell
Cannon, Callie Jackson, Lorena Low- ,
ery, Bettie Brandon and the Ghost.
Many games T and amusements, among
which were the fortune teller's tent
and witch’s cave, were thoroughly en- j
joyed by all. From an old fashioned (
well with clinging ivy, oaken bucket
and gourd, Miss Bettie Brandon
served punch, and during the evening. I
other refreshments suited to the oc- |
casion were served.
The Ladies’ Improvement Club will
hold their annual chrysanthemum
show on Friday, November 9th, instead
■of the 14th.
Among those attending the fair at
Macon this week were Mr. and Mrs.
J. M. Conyers. Dr. and Mrs. M. F.
Hay good, Messrs. J. S. and X. B. Can
non, Misses Willie Bell- Cannon, Essie
Saggus and Bettie Brandon
Mrs. Cliff Taff and young son have
returned from Roekmart wtaerfi they
have Irnen visiting Mrs. Taffs mother.
Rev. A. S. Trulock, having been
transferred to the South Georgia Com
ference, left last week with his family
for Whigham, Ga.
Mm R. B. Hargis and young son,
Robert, Jr., spent several days this
week with Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Phillips
in Cartersvllle.
Mrs. K. W. Sproull spent Tuesday
in Atlanta.
Mrs. R. L, Jackson and daughter,
Mary Sue, spent one day last week in
C-artersville.
Miss Susie Williams is visiting
friends in Aragon and Rome.
Mrs. j. b. Sproull, Mr. and Mrs. E.
G. Beasley and daughter, Miss Margie,
spent one day last week in Rome.
Mr. M. T. MoWharton spent Sunday
in Cedar town.
Hugh Latimer has applied for ex
