As tax collector of Bartow country, I will be at the places stated above on the dates specified. I hope all citizens will make arrangements to pay their taxes as soon as v possible. The law now prevail ing requires the payment of interest by delinquent tax payers from the 20th of December; requires tax col lectors to make monthly reports of delinquent tax payers and amount of interest collected by them. It also imposes severel penalties upon tax collectors for failure to comply with the law and gives the comp troller general no discretion to remit these penalties. It follows, therefore, that my duties are purely ministerial. I must make collection of the taxes < r promptly issue a fife and report all delinquents which, of course, adds cost. -As the law requires me to* clc e my books Dec. 20th. * .
