We bought these shoes considerably below today’s market, and are going to sell them on a very

to marry his daughter, according to a
siory that has been received here.

Dennis Hall at Tifton. The men were

gaged in farming and truck growing
and was doing well. His dauhter, in
the meantime, had rown to young wo
manhood and was wooed by a young
man of that section. They became en
caged to marry. The time of the mar
riage had been practically agreed upon.
Hall, or Forrester, took the young
man into his confidence. He told him
that he did not want him to marry his
daughter without knowing the truth.
Then he confided to the suitor that his
name was not Forrester, but it was
Hall, that he had killed a man in Geor
g a. had been sentenced to hard labor
and escaped. He told the young man
that he was trying to make good in the
world, that ho was forced to do what
he had done, but that he wanted him
to know the facts before the marriage.
He made a clean statement, according
to the reports which come here.
But the young man was made of
coarser metal. He not only broke bff
the engagement, but notified the offi
cers that Forrester was none other than
I. B. Hall, a fugitive from justice in
Georgia, and thus caused his arrest
and return to a Georgia convict camp.
The family is broken up, and Mrs. Hall
hopes to get executive clemency for
her husband.
Kali Is said to have taken the turn in

C., has been visiting in White for the
past two days, but left Monday morning
for Eaton to visit her parents, the Rev
and Mrs. Parsons.

is spending sometime with her daugh

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Warde, of Atlanta,
were the guests of his parents, Mr. and

Mr. Newman Bramlett and faminly,
Mr. Jim Bramlett and family, and John
Bramlett, his mother and sister, of near
Cartersville have all moved to White,
we welcome them to our village.
Mr. J. M. Elrod returned to his home
in Florida Thursday after speding ten
days very pleasantly with his brother,
Mr. G. W. Elrod.
Miss Marie Tierce was the week end
guest of her aunt, Mrs. Mattie Sparks
in Cartersville,
Miss Stella Hamrick, of Atlanta is
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M.
Hamrick.
