A Plaint Candidate.
For some time there has bee
however, that Plains would put a
resident of that section in the court
house this year, and an active candi
date for some office was not unex
pected.
“You may say for Mr. Malone pnd
myself," said Mr. Glawson, “that we
are unalterably for the enforcement
«f the law, whether it be the prohi
bition law or any other, and should
we fce elected we will undertake to
eo-operate with the people."
Mr. Malone, who is picked as Mr.
Glawson’s deputy, is a farmer, a man
of middle age ami fine physique.
When it was jokingly remarked to
Mr. Glawson that he went into Sher
iff # Harvey’s home stronghold to se
lect his deputy! he replied, “Well,
that is where he beat me th
time.”
Mr. Glawson opposed Lucius Har
vey, the present sheriff, six years
ago, and last by a narrow margin.
Four years ago he did not enter the
race but told Mr. Harvey that he
would oppose him this year. Mr.
Harvey announced for re-election a
few days ago. naming T. M. Sum
mers, his present deputy, for the
place in case he is re-elected. A mer
ry contest is expected by the friends
candidates.

forming operations. He is recogniz

efficient farmers in this section, and
is highly and widely respected. That
he will have a large following in the
