county commissioners to call in the

*400,000 worth of road bonds sev
eral months ago and after putting
the proper safeguards around it dis
tribute it among the banks of the
county “and thereby help relieve the
present financial stringency." The

gee, children’s superintendent of the
Georgia Sunday School Association,
that the postponed Sumter County
Sunday school convention will be
held November 23. in the Anthony
Chapel Methodist church. There
will be two sessions on that day, one
beginning at 10 o’clock a. m. and
the other at 1:30 p. m. Dinner will
bo served at the church by the la
dies of the community.
A program full of good things will
bo given. There will be addresses
on Sunday school suestion of inter
est by both local and visiting speak
era.

Aggies To Play In
Ashburn Friday
It was announced today by Coach
Dan Chappell that the football team
of the Aggie school here would go to
Ashburn Friday to play an aggrega
tion there. This will be the first
try-out the Aggie boys have had and
they expect a good hard game.
Mr. Chappell, who was a member
of the Americus High school football
team for three years while a student
there, has collected a good heavy
team and has been putting them
through the paces for a few weeks
and expects great things of them.
This afternoon they can be seen
scrimmaging the High school team at
evening, but
