down other proposed increases,

had voted for them on thc uritter-
standing that if every increase . was
killed nothing should *be allowed to
prevent adoption of the pension fund,

The party included Mr. Council,
Mr. Lanier, Charles Lanier and a
Times-Rccorder man. Piloting the
party was Rev. M. W. Reddick, prin-
opal of the Americus Institute; Boss
Warren, well known negro leader of
thc community, and one of the men
most interested in the school, and Al
bert Stallworth, colored farm demon
stration agent.
Something of,the school farm was
told last year in this ncwnpape% of
how it was bought on payments and
was being used to aid in the support
of the school and furnish training for
the boys attending school in how to
farm properly and profitably.
The school farm proper consists of
jji ® crCB - some of it ia woods. In
addition some 50 acres of the old
Stewart farm adjoining have been
rented from A. J. Evans, of Fort
Valley. The school now has 120
acres of growing corn, which will be
the principal cropthis year. Most of
it is magnificent corn, and would be
considered good in any year. Prac
tically all of It is still green and
fine, well cared, large and unusually
promising. It will yield heavily, and
land will provide other food to go I
