Gay, of Turin,, is one of the most successful practitioners Sn the county. Although liis professional! list for the year included a large number of patients and a perplexing variety of ailjnent.% he has not lost a single case. Work on the Chattanooga and Rome Railroad is being rapidly pushed. This road is located to Tallapoosa, Haralson county, on its way to Columbus. If the road runs from there to Carrollton it will t ake the Xewnan and Carrollton Road to Xewnan and build from Xew- nau to Greenville and broaden the gauge of the Greenville am! Columbus Road to Columbus. This will place Greenville in direct communication with Chattanooga.— Meriwether Vindi cator. Messrs, T. G, Farmer and B. T. Thompson have been suggested as suitable candidates for the two alder- manic vacancies at the approaching city election, and the suggestion meets with such popular favor that they will doubtless be elected without opposi tion. They will succeed Messrs. H. C. Arnall and -T. J. Goodruni, and two more worthy successors of these ex cellent officials could not have been nominated. The election occurs on Saturday, December toth.
