county, all persons interested are required to

Election Noilce.
Whereas, the Board of Education of the
City of Newnan, under and by the authority
of an Act of the General Assembly of Geor
gia, approved December 27,1886, have, by res
olution passed February 17, 1888, designated
Saturday, April 28, 1888, as the day on which
an election will be held to determine the ques
tion whether bonds shall be issued by thecity
of Newnan to purchase school property and
build and equip the necessary school-houses,
the amount of said bonds to be
SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS,
and, as determined by the Mayor and Aider-
men of theCity of Newnan, the interes- they
are to bear shall be six per cent, per annum,
payable semi-annually, and the principal of
said bonds to be paid ns follows:
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1895.
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1897.
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1899.
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1901.
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1902.
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1903.
Fifteen hundred dollars on January 1st, 1901.
Fifteen hundred dollars on January 1st, 1905.
Fifteen hundred dollars on January 1st, 1906.
Fifteen hundred dollars on January 1st, 1907.

Therefore, in compliance with said Act, no

held at the Court-house in said city on Satur

It appearing to the Court by the peti
tion of E. T. Talaferro, Hewitt. Walker
<fc Porter, and W. T. Johnson, that
Tilro Morris and Lula Morris, on the
19th day of September, 1855, executed and
delivered to said petitioners a mortgage on a
tract of land lying in the — district of said
county, to-wit: A certain tract of land sit
uate in said county. Georgia, about seven
miles from the town of Newnan, Georgia,
known as the “Roland place,” containing
about three hundred aud thirty-nine acres,
bounded on the north by the lauds of William
Wright and one Cavender, on the south by
the lands of Anselm Leigh, on the east by the
lands of , and on the west by the lands
of said Cavender. Also one store ard lot up
on which the house is situated, located in said
town of Newnan, Georgia, fronting thirty
feet, more or less, on Bay street, and extend
ing back of uniform width about sixty feet,
to an alley, bounded north by lands of Lav
ender Ray aud on the south by the lands of
Dr. A. J. "Lyndon, the said store-house and
lot occupied at the time of the execution of
ssid mortgage by J. S. Anderson, for the pur
pose of securing the payment of a
certain promissory note for the sum of
five hundred dollars made by the said Tilro
Morris and Lula Morris on the 19th day of
September. 1?35, and payable to said E. T.
Talaferro, Hewitt. Walker & Porter and W.
T. Johnson, due first day of January, 1886,
which said note the said Tilro Morris and
Lula Morris refuse to pay. It is therefore
ordered that the said Tilro Morris and Lula
Morris pay into this Court, on or before the
next term thereof, the principal and interest
due on said note, and the costs of this suit, or
In default thereof the Court will proceed as to
justice shall appertain. And it is farther or
dered that this rule be published in The Her
ald axd Adverti see, a newspaper pub
lished in said county of Coweta, once a month
for four months, or served on said Tilro Mar-
ris and said Lula Morris, or their special
agent or attorney, three mouths previous to
the next term of this Court.

City Bond Eleciion Notice.
Whereas. The Board of Education of the
City of Newnan, under and by the authority
of an Act of the General Assembly of Georgia,
have called an election—the Mayor and Board
of Aldermen ofthe City of Newnan, concur
ring therein—to determine the question
whether bonds shall be issued by the City of
Newnan for the purpose of purchasing school
property, and building and equipping the
necessary school-houses. The amount of such
bonds shall be SIXTEEN THOUSAND
DOLLARS, and the interest they are to bear
shall be six per cent, per annum, payable
semi-annually.
The principal of said bonds to be paid as
follows:
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1S95.
One thousand dollars on January 1st. 1897.
One thousand dollars on January 1st, 1899.
One thousand dollars on January 1st. 190i.
One thou.-and dollars on January 1st. 1902.
One thousand dollars on January Is*. 1903.
Fifteen haudred dollars on January 1st. 1904.
