Academy * 1 Thursday evening, given under the , nuspices of the Ladies Parsonage So ciety, was quite a success. A large per cent of the spellers were school children, whose flue spelling was a credit to their j teachers. The contest lasted until the j “wee sum’ hours" and resulted in a tie. Both of the captains, Bessie Bohannon and Mel Andrews, were left standing, with eight on Bessie’s and two oil Mel’s side. A neat sum was raised. A pleasant meeting of the Homo Mis sion Society was held at the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon.
