B.Brad ley's drug store and will continue in that line of business. The head of the concern, Dr. Hutfaker, has j charge the pastor, been engaged in business with Mr. nnMmmnMMM Bradley for several years and is a popular and capable business man. His assistant in the store’s man agement will be Will Hughes, at present of Atlanta, who is a son of Rev. F. (J. Hughes of this city. Mr. Hughes is a fine business man £ and will be heartily welcomed as a permanent resident of Newnan. The D. W. Boone Co. is being incorporated to take over the big Boone store and control that flour ishing business. The incorpora tors are D. W. Boone, M. B. Mooney, B. II. Lovejoy, O. F. Allen, J. A. Robertson, dr., <1. W. Kersey, M. C. Bobison and F. W. Stripling. D. W. Boone is count ed-one of the most successful of Newnan merchants and his asso ciates in this company are all well known young men who have had ample experience in merchandising. The future promises great success for this company. The Kirby-Bohannon Co. will conduct a hardware store in the Black building. The incorpora tors are B. H. and J. T. Kirby and W. R. Bohannon. B. H. Kirby and W. B. Bohannon will have the active management of the bus iness, the other member of the , company being Hon. J. T. Kirby, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. Ben Kirbv and Hoy Bohannon form an excellent team of business men and the con- 4 § cern begins business with very tv favorable prospects. The incorporators of the Holt and ('ates Co. are J. B. Holt, ,1. B. < ates and P. (1. Stanley. For sev eral years Messrs. Holt and Cates have been numbered with this city's most enterprising and suc- cessful business men. Mr. Stan ley has been an employe of the - ore for some time, having conn- li *re from West Point, and he has made many pc a capable business man. The F. H. Bedwine Co., with principal office in Newnan, will conduct a general store at Roscoe. The incorporators are J. C. Hood, H. C. Glover and W. H. Tanner, cl Coweta county, end F. Id. Bed vine, of Campl»ell county. All are well known and successful p -iness men and farmers. In addition to the numerous in corporations mentioned, several v other business changes are No Race Suicide Here. One of the most remarkable fam ilies in Coweta county, is that of ,1. W. Hutchinson, a member of the board of Commissioners for Coweta county, living in the Har alson District. Mr. Hutchinson was married just ‘JO years ago, to Miss Gray, a daughter of “Unde” Hosea Gray, whom everyone in the county knew. Before Mr. Hutchinson and his wife hail been married nineteen years they were the parents of twelve children. There were neith er twins nor triplets born to them, and the first born was a girl, now a beautiful young lady. The next was a boy and then a girl, alterna ting. a girl and a boy, until the twelfth one. a Imy, which was born some time last year. All are at home with their pa rents; hale, healthy, active and in dustrious. It is announced that the Central Railroad will begin the operation of a train between this city and Luthersville next Monday . The train will leave Luthersville in the morning, arri\ ing here probably at nine o’clock, and it will return to Luthersville in the afternoon, leaving here at about four o'clock. John and Clove Bryant visited the family of their father-in-law, Frank Sticher, at Banning, last Sunday. Frank Hannon had the misfortune to get two of his lingers cut off in the shop one day last week. Jack Hull, from Carrollton, spent last Sunday with Newnan friends. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Allen spent last Sunday at Sargent with the latter’s mother, Mrs. .T. J. Hendrix, who lias been very sick. Elsie, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Toni Thomas, has been ill for several days. Gordon Hanson came down from Car rollton last Sunday and went to work in the cotton mill Monday. Mrs. S. F. Allmun and Mrs: Woodruff were called to the bedside of Mrs. Hen ry Howard, who is very ill at her home in Griffin. Clnnd Bowington got two of his fing ers cut off iii the mill lost Friday. Miss Fannie Flbreuce, from East Point, spent last week with relatives. Miss Pearl Henry is expected home soon from an extended visit to relatives and friends at Litliia Springs. Mrs. Charlie Newsom, who was so very sick at our last writing, is a little better. ' Znck Smith came down from Carroll ton last Monday and has gone, to work in the cotton mill. Our Sunday schools were well attend ed last Sunday. Owing to the death of Supt. Gaines’ wife’s mother, he was npf with his school at the Chapel last Sun day and was missed very much. The entire school is in sympathy with Mrs Gaines, who is one of our beloved and devoted teachers. Brother ,J. P Shaw preached at the Chapel last Sunday night to a large con gregation and again Monday night at Oscar Mattox’s. Next Sunday is Bro. W. S. Gaines’ regulur meeting day at Lovejoy Memo rial. J. < (wen's farm near Sharpsburg, was pain 1 fully wounded in both feet by the ] accidental discharge of a gun, the j accident occurring on Tuesday of j last week. The gun was lying in a rack on the wall and when Mr. j Jones attempted to take it down 1 j he dropped the gun. it was dis-i I charged and the load of shot en tered the feet of Mrs. Jones, who was standing near. Dr. T. S. Bailey wa- called to attend Mrs. Jones and he found it necessary to remove parts of bones and some flesh from her feet. Mrs. Jones’ injury is very painful and may prove exceedingly trouble some before the wounds heal. Some lively sessions ol the Mayor’s Court have been held du ring the past week and a nice bunch of fines assessed against offenders. Last Saturday Mayor Burdett gave Tom Dickson, colored, a *50 line for blind tigering, and Tom is now doing 30 days’ time on the streets. At Monday’s session of the court Charlie Newell, who cut Elbert Freeman, was fined #15; tor other offenses Clyde Wadley was given #5, Jim Scott, 23; Sam Billingsly #3. All the above named offenders are negroes. Clarence Haynes, white, was fined #5 and is working on the streets. At Wednesday’s matinee Mayor Pro Tern. A marriage of much interest to the people of Newnan was that of Miss Macalinc Faueett,of Rounoke, Ala., and Dr. William Henry Iiuf faker, of this city, which took place in JJie presence of a large number of friends and relatives at the First Baptist Church in Roa noke, Tuesday afternoon at half past two o’clock. The bride was handsomely gowned in a traveling suit of blue with hat to match, carrying a large boquet of bride’s roses.
