A Tribute
>ry
from Sarah Dickinson Chapter, D. A.
R., Newnan, Ga.
Of all the lights and shadows that
flitted over the year 1915 none touched
more tenderly our D. A. R. Chapter
than the going home of Pauline Faver
Camp. She was the iBSt of a trio of sis-
tere to be taken from our membership.
Born with a happy, bouyant spirit that
neither fretted nor worried, she also in
herited from that courtly gentleman,
Dr. C. D. Smith, her grandfather, his
poetic and romantic temperament. So
with the rosy view of commonplace
things her life was a sweet song, till
touched by bereavement. Not yet out
of her teenB, she was married to Mr.
T. L. Camp, and it was a happy union.
To him and the son and daughter, she
was ever devoted. She always re
tained a child-like nature, and so sym
pathy and lore for her friends were
spontaneous. Her sky waB fair and
golden so long as her husband lived,
and with him by her side she could ea
sily rebound under the sorrows and vi
cissitudes of life; but suddenly the as
pect was changed when the swift mes
senger snatched, without warning, her
life companion. She tried to rally for
the sake of her children. She Bmiled;
she tried to be choerful and hopeful;
but the wine of life had lost its sweet
ness, and there Beemed only drogs left,
with her lover gone. “Had it been
land or sea" that divided them, Bhe
might have taken heart, but the land
was beyond human sight. Slowly her
spirit drooped, and when heart and flesh
failed, her feet gladly trod the path at
the end of which eternity’s gates open.
She was one of thoBe bouIs who could
never keep count of tho "coin of the
realm," and never understood what
men call the necessary values. In this
she wbb like many great of the earth,
and of whom the world was not worthy.
Eternity means much to such a soul,
that awaitB final perfection in the res
urrection of the body.
She trusted her children to her God,
who BBid, "When thy father and thy
mother forsake thee, then will the
Lord take thee up.” May the copning
years develop these children into char
acters whose bodies are the dwelling-
place of the Holy Spirit.
Our chapter extends to these chil
dren and to the sister and brother deep
est sympathy. To the mother, who Iibb
so patiently borne the heat and burden
of the day, and now enters the evening
of life, we offer our fellowship of sor
row, knowing “His grace will be suffi
cient." MrB. G. E. Parka,
Mrs. Sam Banks,
Mrs. R. H. Hardaway,
Mrs. E. G. Cole,
v Committee.
"How Mr. Davis Got Rid of a Bad
Cold.
"Some time ago 1 had a very bad
cough," writes Lewis T. Davis, Black-
water, Del. “My brother, McCabe Da
vis, gave me a small bottle of Chamber
lain’s Cough Remedy. After taking
this I bought half a dozen bottleB of it,
but only used one of them, as the cough
left me and I have not been troubled
Blnce." Obtainable everywhere.
Obituary.
On Dec. 80 the gentle spirit of our
beloved brother, Luther B. Story,
passed from earth to a home in heaven.
It is Bad to give up our brother, but
God iB too wise to err, and He knoweth
best. Therefore, his loved oneB should
cease grieving for him, and with the
eye of faith look beyond the grave and
behold his liberated spirit singing glad
hosannas to hiB Redeemer. During hiB
Illness we never heard him murmur.
Talking with him the day before he
died, he said he*was ready to go; wbb
only waiting for the summons.
Deceased was born July 15, 1899.
Besides hiB parents, he leaves five
brothers and four siaterB. One sister
preceded him to the grave three years
ago. He had been a consistent mem
ber of Mt. Carmel church from his
18th year, and was ever ready to do
what he could to advance the Master’s
cause.
May we meet again in that beautiful
home, where there ,shall be no more
partings, nor tears, nor death, but
where all shall be peace and joy ever-
more. Brother.

A DELICATE CHILD
Made Strong By Our Vinol
Fayetteville,N.C.—"My little daugh
ter was in poor health, delicate and
so weak it made us very uneasy. 1
heard about Vinol and decided to try it
and the results were marvelous, her
appetite improved, she gained in weight,
and is now one of the healthiest children
in town. Mothers of delicate children
should try Vinol.”— Mrs. Gordon J essup.
Vinol is a delicious cod liver and iron
tonic without oil, b constitutional rem
edy which creates an appetite, aids di-
geation and makes pure healthy blood.
All children love to take it.
JOHN tL CATES DRUG 00.-, Neman. Ga.
In Memorlam.
Some thirty-five years ago there was
born in Newnan, at the home of his
grandfather, Robert Edwin Robinson.
He grew up in our midst, having much
boyish fun, and adding to other sports
experiments in electricity, telephones,
and other machines not then so perfect
SB now. He left the home early in life,
and soon after professed religion and
joined the Episcopal church. While yet
very young he was united in marriage
to Miss Essie Walton, of Birmingham,
Ala. To him, her price was more than
rubies, and to their children more than
many gems. He was a model husbBnd
and father. Full of cheer and hopeful
ness, life was sweet to him. While he
had thought on eternity, he loved thlB
old world and its workers, many of
whom he counted dear comrades.
He sleeps beBide his father, his grand
father, and his great-grandfather. So,
physically as well as spiritually, "he is
gathered to hiB fathers.”
But moBt touching of all is the little
woman left to bring up the little boy
and girl. With her faith and patience,
it may be asaumed that her task will
be well done. As always, over him wo
men weep and pray for resignation,
which may come with the years. The
inexorable giant still strikes his blows.
Only Faith can await the final triumph
over the "last enemy that Bhall be con
quered.” The widow and orphan are
special charges of Jehovah, and the
Book abounds in promises to them. And
may the dear mother reBt on these
precious promises to herself and chil
dren. The shadows lengthen for his
mother, but her Savior has said, "And
even in your old age I am He, and even
to gray hairB wily I carry you.”
"He giveth HIb beloved sleep.” H.
Now Peels Entirely Well.
A. H. Francis, Zenith, Kans., writes:
"I had a severe pain in my back and
could hardly move. I took about two-
thirds of a 60c. box of Foley’B Kidney
Pills and now feel entirely well.” Mid
dle-aged and older men and women find
these pills relieve sleep-disturbing blad
der ailments. J. F. Lee Drug Co.
“For what do you mane by writing
that my Jimmie can't pass into the
next grade?” Btormed an irate female,
bursting into the principal’s room.
“An' after him doin’ such grand work
all the year.”
"Why, MrB. Flaherty,” replied the
teacher, "you must know better thqn
that. I’ve sent you his report cards
every month, and you know that his
marks have been nearly all ‘D’s.’ ”
"Indade they hav, an’ yit you say he
can’t pass. I don’t understand it,
mum.”
"I am afraid you don’t understand
our system of marking. ‘D’ means de
ficient, you know.”
“Sure, I don’t know phwat that may
he, mum, but Jimmie told me all about
the letters. Sure ‘D’ iB dandy, ‘G’ iB
corking, ’B’ is bum, an’ ‘A’ is awful—
an’ he’s got ‘C’s,’ an’ ‘D’s,’ ivery
month,’’—Harper’s Monthly.
Do You Find Fault With Everybody?
An irritable, fault-finding disposition
is often due to a disordered stomach.
A man with good digestion, is nearly al
ways good natured. A good many have
been permanently benefited by Cham
berlain’s Tablets after years of suffer-/
ing. These tablets strengthen the
stomach and enable it to perform its
functions naturally. Obtainable every
where.
'Ain’t you rather young to be left in
charge of a drug BtOre?"
“Perhaps; what can I do for you?"
“Do your employers know it’s dan
gerous to leave a mere boy like you in
charge of Buch a place?”
•I am competent to serve you,
madam.”
“Don’t you know that you might
poison some one?"
"There is no danger of that, madam;
what can I do for you?”
"Think 1 had better go to the store
down the street.”
"1 can serve you just as well as they
can and as cheaply.”

stamp, but it doesn’t look right.”—To

In instructing a youthful class in
mathematics, the pretty young teacher
turped to John Jones.
"Johnny,” she remarked, "can you
tell me what an average is?”
“Yes, ma’am,” was the prompt re
sponse of Johnny; “an average is what
a hen lays eggs on.”
“What!” exclaimed the amazed
teacher. “What on earth pro you
talking about?”
“That’B right, M»s Mary,” was the
persistent rejoinder of Johnny. "’Most
every le&son in our 'rithmetic starts off,
'if a hen layB two egga a day on an
average!'"

There is absolutely no place in the
commercial or social world to-day for
the drinking man. Some young men
flatter themselves that they are "put
ting one over” the public and "boozing
on the sly,” but, young man, the only
person on earth you are fooling is your
self. Some day the sad fact will sud
denly loom up before you as big as a
mountain and you will realize your mis
take; and, if you are not mighty care
ful, it’ll be too late. Then what? Pick
out twelve drinking men you knew
twelve years ago. Then see where
they stand in the game to-day. Boys,
you are no smarter than they were.—
