Dangers of Draft.
Drafts feel best when we are hot and
perspiring, just when they are most
dangerous, aDa the result is neuralgia,
stiff neck, sore muscleB, or sometimes
an attack of rheumatism. Id such
caseB apply Sloan’s Liniment. It stim
ulates circulation to the sore and pain
ful parts. The blood flows freely, and
Jo n short time the stiffness and pain
leaves. Those suffering from neural
gia or neuralgic headache will find one
or two applications of Sloan’s Liniment
will give grateful relief. The ago
nizing pain gives way to a tingling
sensation of comfort and wurmth, nnd
? ulet roHt and sleep is possible. Good
or neuritis, too. Price 26c. at your

are destroying life and property and
deluging the land in blood, It behooves
our people to move cautiously along all
lines. Frugality in all things during
times like these will bring its reward
in the end.

Gracious Manners.
The charm of gracldue manner and
consideration for other human beings
is a quality that develops rapidly if
given half a chance. The woman who
is always kind creates an atmosphere
of loveliness that is like a balo about
ber head. If you are naturally shy and
reticent it 1b all the more necessary
tbat you should endeavor to Bhlne a
bit. It la not lack of pleasant thoughts
that worries the self-conscious, but the
fear of giving expression to them. You
must try to make yourself companion
able to others.
The Complexion.
The food we eat has much to do with
the condition of the complexion. Green
salads are an important aid to the di
gestion and will accomplish much to
ward. bleaching and whitening a sal
low complexion. They posBesB certain
chemical qualities and supply the body
with needed saltB. Tomatoes, endive,
lettuce and young onions are splendid
for the skin. Spinach contains saltB
of potassium, Iron and ether proper
ties that act upon the liver. Tea and
coffee must be taken in moderation.
MORE MEN THAN WOMEN HAVE
APPENDICITIS.
Surgeons state men are slightly
more subject to appendicitis than wo
men. Newnan people should know
that a few doses of simple buckthorn
bark, glycerine, etc., as mixed in
Adier-i-ka, often relieve or prevent
appendicitis. This mixture removes
such surprising foul matter that ONE
SPOONFUL relieves almost |ANY
CASE of constipation, sour stbmach or
gas. The INSTANT, easy action of
Adler-i-ka is surprising. The Odom

When Cruelty len't Cruelty,
The magistrate 1 of the department of
Selne-et-Olse, In France, once gave n
decision in a claim of cruelty to a
horse which is remarkable as a legal
subtlety. The law provides tbat the
offense is punishable only when com
mitted in public. If the sore is covered
by the collar, he holds, the offense is
not committed in public. If It is not
covered by the collar there is no cruel
ty. In either event the case must be
discharged,

For Your Child's Cough.
If youy child has a cold, nose runs,
or coughs much, get a small bottle of
Dr. Bell’B Pine-Tar-Honey. It’s a
pleasant Pine-Tar-Honey syrup, just
what children like, and just the medi
cine to soothe the cough and check the
cold. After taking, children stop fret
ting, sleep good and are soon entirely
well. Insist on Dr. .Bell’s Pine-Tar-

The case had reached a critical stage.
Even the judge seemed to awaken to a
live interest in the proceedings, for the
most important witness was about to
be cross-examined. “So you are the
lady’s maid?” began the relentless bar
rister.
“Yes, sir.”
“And where were you at 7 o’clock on
the evening in question?”
“I was in my lady’s room, sir.”
“For what purpose?”
“I was dressing my lady’s hair, sir.”
The barrister leaned forward and
spoke slowly and impressively.
“Now think,” he said;
want you
to be very careful in answering this
question: Was or was not your mis
tress in the room at the time?”

A. E. KIESLING

“If you have a muddy complexion

are the best laxative to be bad, and can
