afternoon of last week the Boston Rook
nob nave a shower at the home of Mrs.
Stewart' Colley, in Grantville. Little
Stewart Colley, jr., dressed as Cupid,
came in with a white box decorated in
Oink roses and showered the bride-elect
with its contents. Thursday afternoon
MrB John Miller entertained with a most
enjoyable rook party. The honoree was
presented with a hand-made guest towe.
At the conclusion of the game a deli
cious salad and ice course was served.

Miss Margaret Atkinson, also a bride-
elect, shored honors on this occasion. The
guests included the members of the re
spective bridal parties. Afterwards re

Johnson, Johnnie Camp, Mary Atkinson,
Katie Dent, Mesdames RaTS. Hardaway,
J. T. Williams, Paul Manget and Ella
Norrlsr Tuesday afternoon Mrs. J. T.
Williams gave a rook party, at which the
guest of honor was presented with several
dainty pieces of lingerie. The guests
included Mrs. Wyvis Powers, of Atlanta,
Mrs. Paul Manget, Mrs. R. E. Hardaway,
Mrs. Edgar Long, Mrs. E. W. McKen
zie, Mrs. Jas. Thoyrughman, Mrs. A. W.
Powers, Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. Harry
Jones, Mrs. Lowe, Misses Frances Ar
nold, Ruth Thompson, Marian Bryant,
Katie Dent and Janet Miller.
A pretty wedding of the past week was
that of Miss Petrona Boynton, of this
city, and Mr. James Robert Estes, of
Atlanta, the marriage taking place Tues
day afternoon, at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Chas. L. Barron, the bride’s brother
and sister. Only the immediate families
and a few friends were present. The
bride was lovely in'her goingaway suit
of midnight blue trieotine and brown vel
vet hat, trimmed in gray goose feathers.
She is the fourth daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Gaines A. Boynton, and
a young woman of charming personality.
Mr. Estes is the eldest son of Mr. and
Mrs. H. M, Estes, of this city, and a
promising young business man. Mr. and
Mrs. Estes will make their home in At
lanta. 1
Miss Mary Virginia Bailey entertained
Monday evening at her country home

Marian Flaunery, of Carrollton. Those

Miss Alice McBride entertained several
of her friends at dinner Monday evening.

An enjoyable event on Wednesday of
last week was the “prom.” party given
hy Mrs. J. T. Harp at her home near
town, Misses Willie Love, Catherine Self
and Dorothy Harris, of Newnan, sharing

and Welcome were present, and at a late
hour delicious refreshments were served,
