Mr. J. H, Arnold. It wbb raised on his
Third district farm, weighed 460 lbs.,
and was bought by Manget Bros, at 67%
cents. .With characteristic liberality Mr.
Arnold donated tho entire sum received
for the bale to the fted Cross, and we un
derstand that the merchants of the city
supplemented this generous contribution
with a cash donation of $100.

DISTRICT MEETING OF AMERICAN
, COTTON ASSOCIATION.
Tho Fourth district division of the
American Cotton Association hold an
important mooting'at Warm Springs on.
Thursday of last week, ,all counties of
tho district being represented. A resolu
tion wns adopted urging tho farmers to
hold their cotton seed for $60 a ton, and
if this price cannot be obtained they were
advised to haul the seed home, house and
hold them. If tho price fixed is not
reached, then use them for fertilizer. A
resolution also was adopted pledging tho
members of tho association to stand by
those, warehouses that are bonded, and to
sell cotton according to certificate of
grade as furnished by the bonded ware
houses. The warehouses at Orantvillo,
Moreland, Sonoia, and thq Murray Ware
house at Newnan, are now bonded or
•have made application for bond.
,-\Thq actual cost of producing the pres-
fiat crop, according . to the opinion of
farmers- throughout tiiK district, will lie
40% cents.
