What Will Happen Next?
Bout the tomtoms, sound tho hcwgnpf
and let the whangndoodlo wail I There
is nothing now left worth living for'
Watson hns carried tho State for the
United States Scnntorshlp!
Tho idiotic feud between tho Atlanta
Constitution nnd Atlanta .Toiirnnl created
■ situation whicli gave Watson the very
kind of opening ho was looking for, nnd
ho was shrewd enough to toko advnn
tuge of it. Hven at that, we did not
believe he could Wool enougli people
into voting for him to make his election
jpossitde. But it seems that ha did, and
h|ld votes to spare.
Poor old Georgia I After this entn
tlysni wo need not bo surprised at any
thing that mny happen in State politics.
In fact, to bo on tho snfo sldo wo should
try to stool ourselves for tho worst-
although, nlns nnd alack, it seems truy-d-
iblo that anything worso could happen.
Having raised morry hell in ovury cam
paign during tho past Iwonty years, and
employed his satanic wits to harass iho
Democratic party in ovory wny conceiv
able, he is now by a strongo freak of
political tomfoolery to bo dockod witli
-tho highest honor that’can bo conferred
•upon a citizen of tills common wealth.
It is too much for tho stomach of au
old fashioned Democrat who lias novor
aomtehod a ballot Dr missed voting at
- an election slnco he attained his majority.
This is why wo griovc, nnd why wo refuso
to be comforted,
Advices rccoivod up to lust night show
that Watson will havo 215 county unit
votes in tho oonvontion, or 21 moro tlmn
accessary to nomlnnto. Dorsey is cred
ited with 81 county unit votes nnd Smith
with a licggnrly 40.
Pot Governor, returns rocalvod up to
4 o’clock yesterday give Hardwick 170
county unit votes, Holder 20, nnd Wal
ker 100, with tho results in "d coimtios
yet to bo reported. It sooma iortaln,
therefore, that a runovor primary will
'be necessary to detormiuo tho coutcst for
tliis office—witli Hardwick and Walker
0a the candidates, of course.
Tho clootion in Oowota passed off
quietly, chief intorost hero contoriug on
the Senntorshlp - contest, tho Governor
ship, ami tho Uirco-cornorcd race for
members of tho Legislature. Tho voto

C Buying automobile accessories is not a
game of chance, nor should it be a mere
extravagance. It is unwise to burden
a car with any mechanism or appliance
that does not add to its comfort or safe

some useful work—any other should
not find a place on your car.
