Paragraph 2. Section 1 Article 11

Section 1, Bo It onneted by the Gen
eral Assembly of Georgia, and It Is
hereby enacted by authority of Home,
That from and after tho passage of
this Act tho said Act approved August
11, 1919, to amend Paragraph 2 Sec
tion L, Article 11. of tho Constitution
of this State, to oroute the new county
of Lanlor bo. and the same Is hereby
amondod by striking from line 18 on
page 70, Acts of the General Assembly
of Georgia, 1919. the worde -“Lanier
county," bo that when thus atnonded
that part of Soattbn 1 of said Aot per
taining' to oloctlon managers in dis
tricts Included In tho territory to com
prise Lanlor county In Its first oloctlon
shall read as folows; "And the Ordi

eral Assembly of Georgia, and it is
hereby enacted by authority of the

the people of such amendment to the
Constitution creating said county of
Lanlor, said new county shall be and
constitute a part of the Alapaha Judl
clal circuit, and so remain until there
after properly changed by law • and

amended shall road as follows: The
said county of Lanier shall be attach
ed to tho Eleventh Congressional dis
trict, tho Alapaha Judicial circuit and
tho Sixth Senatorial district etc,

Sec. 5. "Whenever the Constitutional

bers of the two Houses ot the General
Assembly, and the same entered on
their Journals, with the “Yens" and
"NayH" taken thereon, the Governor
shall cause said proposed amendment
to be published In at least two news
papers In each Congressional district
In this State for a period of two
months next preceding the next gen
eral election; and tho Governor shall
provide for the submission of this
proposed amendment to the electors of
this State at the next general election
to be held therein, for their reifica
tion or rejection. All persons voting
In Hald election In favor of said pro
posed amendment shall have written
or printed dn their ballots the words,
"For the amendment to the Constitu
tion creating the county of Seminole,"
and those ’opposed thereto shall have
written or printed on their ballots tho
words, "Against the amendment to the
Constitution creating the county of
Seminole.” The returns of said election
shall be made to the Secretary of
State, who shall certify the result
thereof to tho Governor, and If said
proposed amendment be ratified by a
majority of the voters voting In Hald
general election, the Governor ahall

-The General Assembly of the State of
Georgia hereby proposes to the
qualified electors of said State an
amendment to Paragraph 2, Section
1. Article 11, of the Constitution of
tho State of Georgia, as heretofore
amendod, to provide for the creation
of n new county, to be known as
Seminole, and for other purposes.
Section 1, The General Assembly
of the State of .Georgia proposes to

of the Constitution of this State, as
heretofore amendod, as follows, to-
wlt: That In addition to the counties
now provided for by the Constitution,

Section 1. Tho General Assembly
of the State of Georgia proposes to
the people of Georgia an amendment

a new county known as Long, laid out
from the county of Liberty, bounded

line between Liberty and McIntosh

section thereof with South Newport

McIntosh county, at the point where

Is nearest the Atlantic Coast Line
railroad’s main line; thence a straight
line northwestward to the 1 main line
of the Atlantic Coast Lino railroad at
a point one-half mile southwest of
said railroad’s depot at Lambert,
Georgia, (post office,) and Walthour
ville station; thence due north a
straight line to the Walthourville and
Smiley public road, north of Lambert,
Ga,; thence northwestward a straght
line to a point in the Ludowlct and
Hlnesville public road three hundred'
(300) yards north of the residence of
W. H. Devereaux, In the 17B6th G. M,
District of Liberty county; thence
northwestward a straight line to a
point on the Roderick and Hlnesville
mblic road where same Is intersected

Seo, 3. The county ■ authorities of
said new county shall have the right
to create a debt for and on behalf of
said county to defray the nubile ex
penses thereof for the first year, with
out submitting the same to a vote of
the qualified voters thereof.
Sec. 4. Said new county, when cre
ated, shall be entitled to one Repre
sentative In the Lower Rouse of. the
General Assembly of Georgia, and the
membership of the said House shall
be increased by one, so as to admit
of representation therein for said new
county.
Sec, B. Whenever the Constitutional
amendment hereby proposed shall be
agreed to by two-thirds of the mem
bers of the two houses of the General
Assembly, and the same entered on
their Journals, with the “Yeas” and
“Nays” taken thereon, the Governor
shall cause said proposed amendment
to be published in, at least two news
papers in eaoh Congressional district
in this State for a period of two
months next preceding the next gen
eral election; and the Governor shall
provide for the submission of this
proposed amendment to the electors of
this State tit the next general election
to be held therein, for their ratlfloa-,
tlon- or rejection. All persons voting
in said election in favor of said pro
posed amendment shall 1 have written
or printed on their ballots the words,
“For the amendment to the Constitu
tion creating the county of Long,”
and those opposed thereto shall have
written or printed on their ballots the
words, "Against the amendment to the
Constitution' crating the county" of
Long.” The returns of said election
shall be made to the (Secretary of
State, who shall certify the result
thereof to the Governor, and If said
proposed ’ amendment be ratified by a
majority of the voters voting In said
general election, tho Governor shall
Issue his proclamation to said effect.
