During the late Stale campaign, end

Labor Index, published at WnyeroHH,
printed tho following article—
“A tragedy occurred in Wnycross
'Thursday night which aroused memories
of n political spoooh mode in Wnycross

by n negro, The spoooh referred to was
one made by Thomas E. Watson, In

evidently desired that condition. And

Senator I

citir.cn ns saying that “The Times is
the only paper ho knows Hint 1ms tho

is a nice compliment, and, coming from
the source it did, Bhould bo appreciated.
True, Tho Times docs express its con

Tho Republican candidate for Pros!
dont is credited with tho statement, made
a few woeks ago, that one dollar per
bushel is a fair price for wheat. Perhaps
this heartless observation had some
thing to do with the Hurry on tho Chicago
Grain Exchange last Saturday, when corn
dropped to 97c. According to this es
timnto' of tho vnluo of farm products tho
Republican candidate would probably con
sldor 10c. a fair price for cotton.
Commenting upon tho outcome of tho
Senatorial contest in tho late lamented

of tho Macon Telegraph, cries out in
agony of spirit: “Is thoro any balm

Wonder what Sam Olive, Jayoye Ke! y,
and other anti-Loague candidates who
figured in tho late Congressional prima

as an issue in Georgia politics!
Wo don’t know which is worse, a crop
failure or a political calamity; but to
bo afflicted with both in the same year
is a severe test of human patience and
Christian forbearance.
If Walker doesn’t walk away with
Hardwick next Wednesday we shall bo
so disgusted that we’ll feel like quitting
politics nnd go to raising hogs,

of germinating power. We have never handled lawn grass seed before and
our stock is absolutely fresh, and the seed will “come up" too, for we have
tried them. This is the proper mixture for planting in the fall and now is
the time to plant. Take a look at your yard and then phone double-six.
