A TRIBUTE.
At lilu> regular monthly meeting of the
Surah Hall Missionary Society of the
Central Baptist church, Newnan, Ha., on
Fob. 2, 1021, the following tribute of
love to the memory of Mrs. H. 0. Arimll,
sr., was road and approved—
it is fitting that we pause in the midst
of our varied cures and duties and pon
der over the mysterious workings of
Providence, and the inexorable demands
of the Grim Reaper, Death.
“Leaves have-their time to fall,
And llowers to wither at the north
wind ’h breath
And stars to set; but thou,
Thou hast all seasons for thine own,
O death. ’ ’
How true Is this of death, yet in the
case of our sister she was spared to her
loved ones nnd friends until the winter
of her life, having lived out almost her
threescore and ten years.
She was born March 4, 1850, and In the
stillness of the evening of Nov. 18, 1920,
her gentle spirit left Its suffering tene
ment nnd entered' into that rest that ro-
maineth to tlio people of God.
Her illness covered n long period, dur
ing which time every effort was made
to restore her to her normal condition;
but love and professional skill proved
unavailing, and wo can but think it was
a relief when her freed spirit left the
pain-waBted body and took its trium
phant flight to that etorunl paradise
which God gives only to the pure in
heart.
She was married to Mr, IT. C. Arnall In
1874,'and in 1871) was baptized into the
membership ;.df the Newimn church.
■While for many yenrs she wns too feeble
to attend the services of the sanctuary,
she always wanted hor home represented
in God’s house by other members of
her family. She wns loyal to he
church, society and pastors, nnd in look
ing ovor past records of our society wo
were struck with her large liberality;
Stic gave gonerouBly to our denomina
tional institutions of learning, ami her
loyalty to our denomination was only
surpassed by hor loving obedience to
hor Lord’s command to give the gospel
to “every creature,” for she was fore
most In gifts to dur mission enuse.
Kindness and'unselfishness wore the pro
dominating noteB in hor character, nnd
her entire life had boon one of unsolflsh
devotion of others. Quietly, lovingly
faithfully, she ministered to her own
family, and then to a sister’s orphan
daughter, rearing her ns her own.
The best energies of, hor last years
were spent in making a homo for a wid
owed son and mothering his orphan cliil
dren. She was richly blessed witli all
that could satisfy a Christian mother *i
heart in the love and confidence of bus
band and children, and in the well
grounded hope that tlioir faith in tho
Lord had saved them to bo jewels of
Christ. Her relation to tho Savior was
of an humble, quiet type, beautiful in
its simplicity, its deptli of trust and
reverence.
Our every thought of-her is praise, not
because she lias passed nWny, but be
cause sho still lives with us in words and
deeds, inspiring nfl to gather afrcHli the
impulse of noble, unselfish living.
No mere words can pay tribute to
the beautiful, faithful life of this wo
man of God, who ever walked uprightly
and kept herself unspotted from the
world. 'Tn her home life she shone
brightest, and it can bo truthfully said
of her, ‘ ‘ Sho looked well to the ways
of her household, and nto not the bread
of idleness. Her children rise up and
call her blessed, her husband also, and
he praiseth her. ”
She wns a praying mother, whose in
fluence will abide with her children al
ways. To the bereaved husband, tho
four manly sons, the two devoted
daughters who ministered to her so
lovingly and untiringly, to the niece,
(her foster daughter,) her grandchildren
and other relatives, we extend our teh-
derest sympathy, praying for them and
us for the faith that can look up and
say, “Thy will be'.done.”
Only eternity can reveal what her life
has meant to the world. In Christian
meekness and humility she followed so “
close to her Master that we feel that tho
cold waves of death barely engulfed her
before she emerged in triumph, wel
comed by the great host of tho redeem
ed of God.

“SOAP WRAPPERS” VS. LIBERTY
BONDS.
Dalton Citizen.
Tom Watson, our new Sonator-eloet,
is never so funny us when he discusses
economic questions. He is an economic
nostrum vendor of tlio first magnitude.
Ho mny convince people who are igno
rant. Anything goes with them, from
moonshine liquor to monetized Liberty
Bonds. Tho latter he now refers fo as
soap wrappors,” while he insists at-
tho same time that they be made legal
tender.
Groat is Watson!
Ho is never embarrassed by inconsis
tencies. He wants to make Government
bonds money, and iu almost in the same
breath ho refers to them as worthless
sonp wruppers. 1 ’
Seriously speaking and for tlio sake
of argument, suppose the twenty billion
dollars’ wortli of Liberty Bonds were
monetized, who would it benefit? It
would of course benefit the Watson-
despised plutocrats who have bought up
the great majority of tho bonds. Tito
masses of the people sold thqir bonds,
not becauso they had to, but .because
they wanted to.
People who sold the bonds, indirectly

held them for higher prices they would
have got them. '
