Wc see from a pifidlshtxl notice in The
Tlornhl that tlie trustees of Starr school
district lmve ordered an election to de
termine whether 'bands shell be issued for
the purpose of building n Hcltonl-houso
(ox houses) ,in said district, tho nmount
of tlie proposed 'bond issue to bo
410 ,000, und to bear interest at tho rate
of 7 .per cent, per uiiuum. We enn’t
believe Hint the eitizons residing in the
territory embraced in tlie new school
district, wish tholr property subjected to
extra taxation to pay off those bonds—
a debt .that will hung ovor them for sev
enteen years. Tnklng into consideration
tire distressed flunnebd condition of the
country, coupled with tlie vory unsatia-
fnatory farming conditions under which
our people nre now laboring, it seems in-
orodihlc Hint the proporty-oWncrs of the
district would be willing to saddle them
selves with tills additional burden; We
don’t believe they will. If Turin nml

FOR HOT DAYS
Well, we are having some hot weath
er at last, and soon we’ll be complaining
about it, just as we did about the cold.
However, we generally do that way.
Lots of things you can get here that
make summer heat a little mare bear
able. You will want refreshing and
dainty talcums and face powders—
soothing and cleansing creams, and
lotions for sun-burn, and the articles
for the relief of other summer troubles.
And also SOAP!
Remember that our store olfers a
complete line of toilet goods and prepa
rations for ladies and gentlemen—the
quality is. right, the service personal.
