Poetry, asr', whats and all sorts of sentences were givey thorn, but tlicv bad been too well trained to even hesitate. After this, Cupt. Liatcr examined ft class in arithmetic. This class during the six months, had about worked through and reyiewejj Gi-ecnleaf ’s Com mon School Arithmetic. They seemed to fiave been well taught, and worked with rose and dispatch tho various problems given them. Also, a class or two in English grammar of boys, who had had precisely the same oppor tunity as the ,d#BB of girls above men j tioned. This class was also tested by : many very intricate sentences given iby teachers in the audience, all of which were parsed without delay or error by the class. After this, a class in tiie Natural ScieAceswkichftcqnittftd themselves with great credit. In the evening Gapt.
