An Act,
To porvide for a special election for
Governor to fill the unexpired term
of Rufus 11. Bullock, late Governor,
and for other purposes.
Whereas, by resignation of Rufus
B. Bullock, late Governor, the ofliice
! of Governor has become vacant, an*
the duties of said office are now being
j discharged by Honorable Benjamin
! (iuiloy, President of tlie Senate at the
! time of said resignation; and whereas,
the f’oriMlitution provides than Ihe
General Assembly shall have power
to porvide by law for filling unexpired
terms, by special election ; therefore.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Gen
■ i al Assembly and it is hereby enacted
by authority of the same. That a
special elect ion foi Governor shall la

Tuesday in December, 1871, to h 1

lion shall be held as is provided by
Irwin’s Revised Code, as of force prior
to the third day of October, 1870,

and directed to the President of the
Senate and Speaker of the House of
