Ocil’a Sparks.
OcillaGa, Mar. lid. Editor News:
Wo could got off no sparks last
week on account of the high water
carrying off our post office boat.
We left the boat at our front gate
one night while it was raining and
next morning there was a brisk
stream running by arid the boat
gone (wo think to Brunswick.)
The city of Minnie can now
boast of having both messengers
of the Senate as citizens.
The weather is so nice this morn¬
ing that we think cf planting our
ccllard patch, we alreedy have our
Irish ’tatere and ingerrs planted.
It seeme that our hens are deter¬
mined to see that we have more
chickens. They have all quit lay¬
ing and gone to setting on such
things as they see fit, one is setting
on the door step where we tied her
in order to keep our brood of brick¬
bats from increasing.
We’ve done it now ! That is we
have unfolded our big blue flag in
‘avor of Atkinson for governor and
we are - ire that this flag means
victor’-, not only lor our county,
but e state. If nc felt as sure of
our flection for marnhall of our
town, as we do of Atkinson's elec¬
tion for governor ol Georgia we
would not ask a man what he
thought the chances would be for
us. There is not an Evans man in
the city, at.d we have not heard of
one this side of the river, which
fact goes to show that our county
is going to do her part in electing
Mr. Alkin«on.
Mi. Bill Rogers was in town one
day last TV c- ok cn official bushics I
arid say;, he is not yet out
race for sheriff Bill will “vet there
Llici'’ in case he should wii L il 6
race.
The recent rains have put the
farmers a little back vr h their
corn planting in this scfE'-i. Some
of the land is so boggv that it is
impossible to start wcik.
Brother Cain preached an able
sermon at. the Ocilla academy Sun¬
day, aud will preach again Wed¬
nesday flight. -- Bayard.

The editor had a portion of last
Thursday in the woods among the
birds with Judge Clemente and M ,
Geo. K, Wilcox, and we take this
occasion to osy that if the Judge
never makes -. better record court¬

single all his days.
