THE WIND.
How it. blows,
As it goes,
Hushing, roaring, here and there,
Hesiless Spirit of the Air,
Moving, roving everywhere.
Never seeking for repose.
Now it creeps,
Now it. sweeps,
Over hills and over woods,
Alva 's changing of its moods,
And it over marshes bioods,
Till it dies and almost sleeps.
IIow it groans,
And it moans,
And it, growls and howlsjuid screams.
Like a madman in liis dreams,
Till tile cutting sharpness seems
Piercing thro’ your verj bones.
Now it sighs,
And,it cries,
And it wails so weird and wild,
Like the weeping of a child,
Growing fainter, softer, mild—
Till it hushes—nearly dies.
