Mr. Henry Paulk, of Ashburu,
who was financially ruined in the
Boyd wreck, has left this country
and his friends say that he may
not be ’expected to return soon.
Boyd swindled him out of $1,700.

One of the chief events in the
apid development ol Fitzgerald is
the opening of the mammoth'stoc k
of aew goods by Messrs. D. W.
?aulk<feCo. This firm is com*
posed of Drew W. Paulk and Dr.
E. J. Dorminy. two of the best
known and most popular young
men in Irwin county. Their first
shipment for the new store, which
will be know as the “G. A. R.”
store, made five car loads, and
more goods will come m as fast as
can be placed in the building.
Eighteen in Jail
Sheriff 1 Jesse Paulk had in the
county jail In Irwinville last week
eighteen prisoners, all colored,
with offenses aa follows: Eight
for playing and betting at cards ;
one for stealing watermelons from
Mr. W. B. Fussell; one for beating
the little son S. E. Coleman ; two
for steaaling hay from W. B. Fus¬
sed ; five for carrying concealed
pistols. Eight of ths accused
plead guilty to the chorges and
were fined $40 each t,o include the
cost. One gave bond and will be
tried at the January term of the
county court. Five will be tried
tomorrow at a call term of the
court. Two are undecided is to
how they will answer the charges,
but it is thought they will plead
guilty.
Sheriff Jesse Paulit is deter¬
mined to rid Irwin connty of the
loafing, gambling element so com
mon at the turpentine ard sawmill
camps along the line of the Geor¬
gia Southern, This obnoxious ele¬
ment is being made to answer a
good purpose so far as Irwin’s
treasury is concerned.
The oyster; Bupper at the High
School building last Friday eve¬
ning was a decided success in ev¬
ery respect. All the oysters, with
coffee and bread, were furnished
everyone for only 25 cents. There
were about fifty paid admissions.
The Cycloneta Farm.
This magnificent pieoe of prop¬
erty is scheduled to go on the
block at public out-cry on Dec.
31st inst., together with all the
town lots in Sycamore, belonging to
the Macon Construction Co. The
terms of sale are fullyjexplaiaed in
the notice of the commissioners’
sale to be seen elsewhere in The
News.
The News hopes to see the farm
remain in the hands of persons
who will continue to use it as an
advertisement of the possibilities
of our section, and ;of Irwin county
in particular.
Capt. Irby, the efficient mannger>
is an experienced agriculturist
and has conducted the affairs of
this great enterpaise in a way
which reflects great credit upon
himself and at the same time has
proved to be a true friend to our
section'and people.
It would be a source of great
pleasure and satisfaction to the
people of Irwin county and of our
section generally, if Capt. Irby is
retained as manager in the event
the farm passes from the control
of the Macon Construction Co.

changes in the McMillan road, 432
road district of said county:
1st. Commencing at end of lane east
of A. McMillan’s residence, leaving
original road to left in go ng toward
Jaeksonvill, thence in easteruly diree-
ion about 690 yards; thence ina north -
eastern direction, intersecting original
road again about 800 yards from the
starting point.
2nd. Commencing at a point on said
road about midway between the resi¬
dence of A McMillian and Joe McMil¬
lan, leaving original road again to the
left in going towards Jacksonville;
in easterly direction toward the res¬
idence of Wiley McMillan; thence In
Northeaster direction, intersecting
original road again about one half mile
from the residence of the said Wiley

outcry for sale to the highest bidder on
the 31st day of Deeemlier 1895, between
the lawful hours of sale at Cycloneta
Farm, Irwin county Ga., in front of the
store on said farm, onjlthe G, 8. & F.
Ry’s right of way, which is the point
in said county selected by said commis-
ers for the sale of the property herein¬
after set forth, all of the following real
estate to-wit: (93) Ninety-three town
lots of land situated in (22) twenty-two
blocks in the town of Sycamore, lying
part in Worth and part in Irwin coun¬
ties Ga., aggregating approximately
(io) twenty-five acres.
Also at the same time and place the
farm known as the Cycloneta farm, ly¬
ing in the 6th district of jlrwin county,
Ga., being lots 74 and 75_ and containing
(981.50) nine hundred and eighty-one
and fifty-nine one hundredth acres more
or less, except a light of way of (11.82)
eleven and eighty-two one hundredths
acres more or less. (750) Seven hun¬
dred andjflfty acres of this land are in
a high state of cultivation. Of this,
330 acres are planted with! 44,400 peach
trees; 63 acres are planted in 2,800 pear
trees; 10 acres are planted in 600 plumb
trees; 14 acres are planted with 1,000
apple trees; one acre is planted with 50
quince trees; one acre is planted with
60 cherry trees; ono:aore is planted with
42 ornamental and shade trees, and 16
acres with 6,009 grape vines. Nearly all
the trees bearing. All necessary build¬
ings, such as manager’s residence, ten¬
ant houses, barnes, stables, sheds, to-
baeo barnes, store house, mill house,
ginhouse, etc., are on the,farm as well
as good fencing All in fine state of
repair, well watered „ with good free
stone water.
Also, at the same time and place all
the crops raised on the farm during this
year, which may be undisposed of on
day of sale. All stock thereon, consist¬
ing of mulcs’and mule colts by imported
Spanish Jacks, (4) four SpanishRJaeks,
(2) two imported Jeanetts, horses, colts,
brood mares, Jersey cows and and
grade Jerseys. Also fine full blooded
Berkshire and Y orkshire hogs, brood
sows, shoats and pigs. Also all imple¬
ments, machinery and live stock, mules,
horses, asses, eattle, poultry and hogs.
Miscellaneous articles of all kinds, farm
buildings, stock of merchandise in store
crops gathered and on hand and in the
field. A full inventory of all said property
to be seen in the hands of A. A. Subers,
Macon, Ga. A complete itemeized in¬
ventory will be exhibited at the time
and place of sale.
Terms of sale: The purchaser shall pay
his bid at the time of purchase or with¬
in an hour thereafter or one half tliereof
and the balance after confirmation ot
said sale. Creditors of The Macon Con¬
struction Company shall have the right
to bid for any and all of said property,
and pay for the same by surrendering to
said commissisoners their claims or de¬
mands against the said Macon Oonstue-
tion Company at par with interest. If
any one or a portion ogsaid creditors
shall not join in said purchase, tile cred¬
itors so purchasing shall pay in leash on
confirmation of said sale such an amount
of money as shall be sufficient to pay to
those creditors not joining in said pur¬
chase their pro-rata share of the amount
or amounts for which said property may
have been sold, and their pro-rata part
of the expenses and charges that may be
allowed by the court. Reference is
hereby made to plats of said property
now of file in the Clerk’s office, superior
court. Bibb .county, for fuller partic¬
ulars in regard to the description of said
properties anil lots to be sold. All sales
made subject to the confirmation by the
court and no deeds or titles will be ex-
edited until after such confirmation.
If from any cause ti e commissioners
should fail to be in attendance on the
sale on the day named, said sale of all
of said properties will take place on the
