He waa then very poor; and worked ■for wages, for two years, and in that time lost only 2i days. He work ed at night cutting and splitting JSO rails every night, by s torch light held by his children, and in this way made enough to pay ex penses, and lay aside his wages. He bow owns 160 acres of land worth $1,600 with other good prop erty, and is a prosperous farmer, with all necessary comforts around him. He has no education, and is a member of the Baptist church at I Antioch. pnblic School Notice. * I will be in LaFavette on Satur day the 30th day of October, for the purpose of receiving school reports from teachers of public schools for the present year. Bartow promises Dr. Felton I 1300 majority. But one opinion pre- j ; vails ; Judson is a good fellow. He is our county man and we believe j in him.
