At ton o'clock an immense crowd

and the Masonic and Odd Fel'ows

Tho address showed profound re

the interest of the vast crowd.
«Mr. Patton, of It me, the builder
cf our court house,is a gentleman of
almost if nut quite a national rrpu

nine courthouses: Five in Tenncs

hove been most forU.rmle in seem

which he Is puttiog on this edifice
is but an evidence of that ability
everwhere acknowledged,which has
given him his envnble reputation,
aud will add by its beauty and
durability, to the fume he already
•njoys. He wus the proudest man
on the hill to-day.
To-duy’e proceedings have, I
think, removed the last vostige of
opposition to the building of the

Arched to the grove, and had

double file again faced each other
and Mr. Conley passed between and
shook hands with every student
which brought tears from him and
a good many cf the st udents. He
then dismissed them until the first
