at Orange Park a pet bear that, was
on the place broke loose and Jump
ed into the pool and pursued the
boys, catching William Jeffries,
agent for the Florida Transit Rail
road at Fernandina, biting aud
mangling him so horribly that he
sunk to the bottom of the pool dead.

to. The young man had duly been

The bear had to be instantly killed
he was so unmanageable.
